    my iphone gets much less reception than my pearl does. so i get little to no gsm buzz. my pearl would buzz any speaker within a meter or so.

    1: that's not computer science. that's software, software engineering (maybe), programming.
    computer science is the theory and history of computer programming from an unbiased (read: non-implementation point of view). so, objects, data structures, logic flow, operating system theory.

    2: you went to the wrong school. why did you stay there for so long?

    these two problems are easily corrected with time and effort. it sounds like you are interested, that is step one. step two would be jumping in. you use gnu/linux, so you know what has to be "fixed" from your point of view. find an easy one. get the code, fix it and ask for help if need be and you have exhausted all the effort in obtaining your own answers.

    i was prolly going to use 12v because the wind turbine i'm planning uses used car alternators. although i could put them in series to get 48V. sweet...

    simple enough. they are still converting even though it's more efficient than normal since there is smaller load.

    are mostly of pointing and laughing as i had just moved out of NYC. ;-)

    it was pretty insane to see aerial pictures of NYC (no not the fake "satelite", gimped ones where they used a black smudge tool over the northeast.
