Drivel!? Here at/. we know that when defect != MS based, it's much much easier to fix! I'm sure workarounds and patches would have been developed and implemented by legions of Open Source Angels shooting laser beams from their eyeballs at the affected non-MS web servers by now. Didn't you know that non-MS bug fixes are FREE to implement!?
I own this monitor, and I do NOT get the behavior described. Furthermore, I have found my accuracy in FPS games to be at least as good as my old CRT. No shadowing or lag.
As others have suggested, improvements may be attained through DVI, monitor drivers, vid card, etc.
I have recommended this monitor several times and the people I know who own it are quite satisfied. It's one of the best I have seen.
In short, Gov. Blag*&%$ is raising the cost of employing programmers in Illinois and making outsourcing much more profitable. Hope you didn't vote for the idiot.
That says it all. Not that Blow-go's predecessor was an angel, but he didn't screw around with the taxes like this. When he first got into office he tried to put taxes on all services (i.e. labor). Maybe he figures the Tech companies won't bitch as much. Maybe our employers will just leave, outsource, or go out of business. That ought to help the IL econ.
True. However, these are software issues. Luckily, emulator development is very active for Xbox. I have found that many games that were once unplayable now work (esp the N64 on Surreal64).
I admit that I'm biased, since I like keeping up with the latest and messing with the box itself.
Very True. People seem to think there are gotchats to hacking the xbox. This is simply not true. You can flip your mod chip off at any time and play XBLive normally... even if you have an upgraded HDD.
People who say you can't do this or that with a hacked Xbox are just wrong.
The list of things you can do with a hacked Xbox is lengthy. Dropping to $99 is a steal for the best console out there (due to the hack).
Run linux if you want
No more VCD burning and MP3 discs, play media files directly. Also, remoteless DVD playback.
ALL ROMS from atari 2600 to N64 & MAME (soon cube?)
For $99 (or $179 imo) + $50 mod, nothing beats it.
The fact that you stuck it out when times were hard can be leveraged into either a fat raise, new position or another job at a company that appreciates you more.
This is such a load. This topic keeps coming up here and I totally disagree. If you don't like your job, the last thing you want to do is sit around and be misarable. DO SOMETHING. Plan now. Get that home equity loan or school loan. Go back to school. Get certified. Whatever. Be better than the "next guy" who is the same one following the "stick it out" plan.
Chances are, you won't get a goddamn thing for taking on all this shit that your company has deemed appropriate. They have taken a liking to squeezing their employees because they think they can. Meanwhile, your buddies are already working up the ladder at the company that isn't sucking ass. You don't win a prize for being the best doormat.
This scenario has played out at my (former) company. Everybody is dashing because of all the bs. Now, the company has screwed themselves because all their programmers left. Oops. The jobs are out there.
I don't want to sound too religious, but can you really put a price on your day to day happiness?
...can be seen here: http://www.steampowered.com/stats/csmarket/ Though I agree that forced mods stink, the change to the game will likely be insignificant.
This is the same reason we are saying "empire it has built on the iPod" instead of "empire it has built on the Mac".

SARS on Mars
Working hard != being taken advantage of. Hard work makes you marketable and a good target for company investment and I'm all for it.

That's almost like suing gun manufacturers for liability in murder cases! Wait...
What an excellent and well thought out rebuttal. Exactly what I would expect from the 'educated' left.
