Let's keep our eyes on the ball here, people. Can you patent something that you didn't invent?
If you can invent it, you can patent it.
If you can patent it, you can profit from it ... and you can prevent others from competing with you in the market.
He's going to write a small OS for the Altair project. After that, he'll sell an OS he wrote (bought) to Boeing or Lockheed Martin (who seem to think that their money is in launch vehicle systems, but really in launch vehicle systems *software*). The proceeds of the sale will lead to him creating the world's largest space software company.
Wonder if he'll bring Ballmer on board. How hard is it to throw a chair in space?
So why is what used to be the world's richest country also the world's most incarcerated country? A British politician was shown in "Sicko" as saying that this was a tactic used to control Society -- if the people were demoralized they were easier to control. Is that the case or is America just crazy? We're certainly not "the land of the free" any more. And the government is now starting a hunt for "Homegrown Terrorists" as if we really had any.
Ayn Rand nailed it here: "There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible to live without breaking laws."
When I was going to school in Boulder, they started a limited route natural gas (I think) public transit program. The first route was called the "Hop". They added another route, called "Skip". Yes, the third route was called "Jump".
Let's assume for a moment that those numbers are inflated. Of course they are inflated. Maybe they don't lose $3 billion/year from people "sharing" copyrighted material. Maybe they "only" lose $100 million. Or maybe they "only" lose $50 million.
You're "quoting" or "emphasizing" the "wrong" words. It's a bit more accurate and telling if you do it like so:
Maybe they don't
"lose" $3 billion/year from people sharing copyrighted material. Maybe they only "lose" $100 million. Or maybe they only "lose" $50 million.
The fact is, no money was "lost". The best you can say is they didn't fully realize the $3 billion/$100 million/$50 million potential revenue (which, as a practical matter, only a had a vanishingly small (i.e., nil) possibility of realization anyways).
I remember as a child one such time, you literally couldn't walk anywhere without stepping on them, they were everywhere. Reminded me of a biblical plague.
Oh yeah. Remember the back in "aught 7", (BC 807, that is)? That was a doozy! I remember that as if it were yesterday... ah, the good ole days.
You'll know this meme has hit the mainstream when you see a 'Calvin pissing on SCO' sticker in rear window of every truck you see, right next to good ol' Number 3.
Finally, a common ground for Chevy and Ford owners to come together on.
This is also the best way to play D/F# (IMO). I know that classical guitarists or instructors would consider "hanging the thumb" to be lazy and poor form, but I figure if it works so well for Clapton, who's really going to argue? Do what works, purists be damned!

don't forget... UMD. They tried making that the new great movie disc format. Glad that effort died a horrible death.
C++ heXtreme!
Jeez... now the plant world is trying to rip off the Simpsons. They really have done *everything*.

Uh... Pete Wilson. 1991-1999.

since the question was about oscilloscopes I felt I had to add a logic probe!
Nice. damn shame I used up my mod points.
You've never developed for VxWorks, have you? (tongue firmly in cheek...)

so you can slip a cooter pin in ... so even if it come loose, the nut won't come off.
Anybody else almost fall out of their chair when they misread that? (thanks to the wonderful Freudian typo)Also, all of my DVD+Rs have "RW" stamped on the bottom, despite not being re-writable. Does RW mean "read/write" now?
No. In that context, they'll probably claim it means Rite Wonce.
