Yes, the VCD is horrible. But that's not the point. In fact, i think that helps his point.. I have the VCD too. In fact, i got it before i saw the movie in the theater. I did NOT watch it before then, because of your reasons - I knew it would be MUCH more impressive on the big screen. I watched it in the theater this past weekend. I paid their price - which is horribly inflated, i might add. And when the DVD comes out, you better beleive i'll be buying it right away.
So i don't feel that having the VCD is in any way wrong - These guys deserve my monitary support, and i will give it to them.
As far as the law goes - if the law is immoral, it is our duty to break it.
I'd be up to it. Movies, TV shows.. the Expanded Universe has some VERY good stories (and some very bad ones.. i'm sure some of you have read Splinter of the Minds Eye - heh).
And Thrawn would be nice to see. His bodyguard, too..
Sounds good to me. I'd like to see it. If someone could take it on.. and they should be able to. Find a good writier to do it.. i'd say Lucas, but he officially retired some time ago, and wasn't even gonna do Ep2..
If it was well written and had at least fairly good effects (and that shouldnt' be hard), i think it would make a pretty good show..
Yeah.. that's a good idea.
I actually got thrown out of my high school for "hacking banks," and other things like that. Someone told someone high-up that i hacked banks and stole millions.. sounds like a good deal to me. Too bad it wasn't true..
Luckally i had already graduated.. i was just hanging around to use their computers, since school wasn't officially over yet..:)
I know everyone hated it, and it has been called the biggest flop (at least most expensive) in the history of movies - but i loved it.
It's gotta be one of the funniest movie's i've ever seen.
It just doesn't get any better than the Deacon.
"..you can tell by the arterial nature of the blood comming form the hole in my head, that we're all having a real lousy day!"
or, "It does look like shit! and it feels like cold shit!"
Although i'd have to say the funniest line in any move i can think of at the moment (i know there are some better ones but i can't think of them), was from Pitch Black (wich i really liked too).
"I thought you said it was clear?!"
"I said it looks clear!"
"..well how does it look now?"
*shrugs*
"looks clear.."
Real Geneius was great. As was Flight of the Navigator, and many of the other that have been mentioned. Makes me wanna go out and buy a copy of them all:)
I gotta agree with most of on this.
I wouldn't go to Mcdonalds for wifi access if i had a choice.. nowhere around here has it that i know of (Little Rock, AR).
It would just be bad news to take you're laptop, or even pda, into a mcdonalds. Kids running around spilling drinks everywhere, and grease on everything. Not to mention you're own fries.
What they should do is have the access point's range cover at least 50 feet from the building, or maybe even more. I could see going in and eating, and then sitting on a bench outside (away from the kids) and checking my mail, or just catching up - on a road trip, that is.
I just took a long trip, and stopped at a few McDonalds on the way, and it would have been pretty useful if i could have gotten online. In fact, it would have been great. So i'd be all for that. Even at an extra charge:)
I keep about 3 100 watt bulbs in the fixture above my computer, and i decorate the room with lots of CAT5 (on the ceiling, etc.. all functional, of course - running to other machines). Makes for a great look if you ask me:)
I also have the Coruscant Skyline up..:)
And i have a huge sliding glass door behind my desk, that makes for quite a bit of natural sunlight during the day:)
Oh, and i have a tomato plant in a pot. (you just cna't beat that home-grown tomato taste.:)
Woah now.. Google's cache is some good stuff, and i'll use it when NYTimes notices their mistake, but until then, all you need to do is repalce the www with archives in their url, and you've got it without registration.

Well - I didn't say i was utilizing all of it. I was just pointing out why it could actually download at 1.5 megabytes/s. It's on an ethernet connection on the local end, but it's a 100mbit connection. I don't doubt it could get a lot more than 1.5 megabytes/s, but i was pointing out that if we actually download at that, they cut us off instantly. That is, they cut off our port..
Of course, they are all morons and sometimes cut you off for no apparent reason.. but that hasn't happend as much lately..
I take it you didn't actually read the article.
It's actually VERY good. In fact, i read it before it was posted on here.. kinda funny.. i didn't notice the/. post until just now..:)
A friend of mine (who went by Uber-Jedi) once wrote a program that did some simple image manipulation for something he was working, and called it uj-image. That doesn't sound that odd at first, but the interesting part is how you pronounce it. It's pronounced "you-ja-maje".. where the "maje" is similar to the Canandian (French i think, Avid always say's it's Canandian) "image", like in SoftImage. (yes, lots of people think it's "soft image", it's not..:))
That one always made for some fun. It saved in.uj files.
He also wrote a program that would play mp3's from inside Jedi Knight II, which was called something simple like JKMusic. However what was intersting was that when it started up it played a wave from the JKII game, with Lando going "You ok?". It had plalist files. They were.uok files.
At my school, if you download just about anything during the day, or download anything over aboug 5 megs at full speed (about 1.5megabytes/s - its an oc3) you simply get cut off. No questions, and no getting it back.

you fp morons.. there's liek 5 "first post :P" messages in a row.. granted, i thought i was gonna get it.. but you know.. ;)
You're radio's working..
Heh - That's an interesting way to put it :)
The Road Warrior was good too, but i didn't like it nearly as much as WaterWorld :)

To many at the networks and studios, it is a cruel joke that could drive them out of business
cruel joke? What kinda cruel joke is this article? i'm not sure i even wanna read past the first paragraph!
