Sorry, griffjon, but there's no way in Hell they will impeach anyone in this Administration - this criminal organization that runs America (as well as Mexico, China, Russia and who knows just how many other countries are being run by similar crime outfits) has successfully and diabolically either out-thought or cowed just too many American dumb f**ks to date.
Listen, many years ago you would have heard about the life stories and backgrounds of most, if not all, those passengers aboard the four commercial airliners involved in 9/11/01 (from the once-functioning American media). Ever wonder why you haven't??? If you've never wondered about that, consider how successful they've been. Consider how smart they've handled everything when hardly no one else wonders about it!
Gee, just examining the passenger lists in some detail tells us that there were government contractors involved in the creation of counter-terrorist scenarios; government contractors who were involved in the original development of remote piloting software/hardware for Boeing commercial jets (now in the UAV program); government employees/appointees involved with the investigation of Flight 800. Said individuals were tasked to attend seminars at varying places across the country that day. And please don't bother to state "What a frigging coincidence!!!!"
This is why we live in a dumb f**k country today - if you can't figure out what's going on, please remove yourself from the gene pool.....
Good Citizen, Jeremy_Bee, you make a most outstanding point (or bunch of points). Gibson, while his first one or two books were good, has been in a steady decline ever since. He has certainly never been particularly well-read in the sciences and he is certainly not on the level of top notch sf writers like Iain Banks, who wrote the epitome of a truly elegant future society in "The Player of Games" and other excellent books in his Culture series.
Those of us with a tehnical aptitude who grew up in a truly progressive time (the '50s and '60s in America) realize that progress is not only NOT increasing exponentially, it has been in serious decline across many, if not all, areas. We have been principally coasting off the incremental developments originating from the largest research project in history, N.A.S.A. Anyone truly familiar with the history of technology knows this to be accurate. Many things have been forgotten which were once generally accepted, such as Da Vinci's impact on engineering throughout the ages (simply check back on the past holders of his drawings and codices, then compare their names to inventors' names over the past 500 years - or better yet, read the early 20th century technology historians in both Europe and America. We are truly entering the Dark Age once again.....(at least in Amerika).
Normally, I don't reply to Anonymous Coward types, but you might reflect on the reality that no Repuke, archconservative hacker has ever been known to exist.....And the phrase "notorious left wing" only exists in the lowbrow lexicon of Michael (Wiener) Savage groupies.....
I agree with the gist of what you say, Good Citizen Chris Burke, but I differ only one one salient point:
I believe, after much research, it is really a criminal organization running the country with Bush as window dressing, but Cheney and Rumsfeld are definitely players.....
Yeah...right...like a squirrel's really going to give away his/her hiding place when being observed by stupid humans. Duuuh, don't think I'd hire you for any scientific research.
Botnet, for sure. Yeah, you're unequivocally correct. And I state that for the record as a card-carrying member of the Global Tinfoil Hat League (GTHL - restricted membership to carbon-based lifeforms only).
There was a study out a little while ago, I think it was by either the Congressional Research Service or the GAO, that proved that over 90% of those H-1Bs don't have any advanced degrees, with quite a number not even possessing undergrad degrees in the pertinent subjects. Something must still be truly amiss here.....
While you make a number of good points (although later posters will jump on that "no child left behind" phrase, ignorant of the fact that it is simly yet another neocon ploy to privatize something - this time the entire educational establishment) the fact remains as to what reality is, as opposed to the consistenly "framed reality" we are presented with in the corporate-controlled McNews on a daily basis.
Case in point, while they are always bemoaning the absence of this type of scientist, engineer or computer science professional, we constantly come across great numbers in those professionals who are unable to obtain employment in their respective fields over the past decade or so. WTF? WTF? WTF? Something is very wrong with this picture......
And on the West Coast, politicians are busy working on behalf of the biotech companies and local chamber of commerces to bring in foreign biotech professionals and technicians....
I think I read somewhere once that maybe he did poorly in grade school math,...
Citizen egyptiankarim, I'm sure you've read that many places as it is a commonly repeated bit of stupid newsy urban legend first promulgated in the '40s. Having seen Einstein's school records, on exhibit in the village/town library in his old home in Germany (I've since forgotten the name of that place, sorry), I can attest that he was a straight-A student.
The misunderstanding may have possibly arisen because the grading systems were reversed between the primary school and secondary schools (i.e., 1-4, then 4-1 grading scales). The postulation of the EPR Paradox - while I sincerely hope it turns out to be true - basically stipulates that information is the fundamental building block of existence (seems obvious enough, huh?) and there is an instantaneous connection between all things (hence, the "Force" of Star Wars, etc.).
What this experiment will ostensibly prove is the EPR Paradox (if I recall my college Q physics), but I'm betting it won't work. It's always sounded great, but I've always strongly suspected it is based upon faulty math...
You should know better. Since when does the USA have that number of military exercises taking place concurrently, especially one of them positioning the vast bulk of its fighter-interceptors to the northern-most point of North America???? Since when do three structures collapse in a steady-state manner from a supposedly random event?? But most of all, if you seriously believe it wasn't simply the use of cutouts (Osama's agents) to effect a massive currency arbitrage scheme (insurance payouts simply payoffs) to be later used as a false political motivator to control foreign oil markets, simply research the backgrounds of all the passengers aboard those four commercial airliners involved that day. This was the group wherein everyone involved died - this would be the starting point of any professional homicide investigation. (This is the absolute final - and should be the beginning - word on any discussion of 9/11/01.)
What was the name of that company that was supposed to have created that remote piloting software/hardware stuff? Oh yeah, Systems Planning Corporation.
Whatever happened to those developers? Oops! Sorry! They unfortunately were aboard several of those 4 commercial airliners which were all destroyed in those 9/11/01 attacks. How curious....
But, I think it's a bit ridiculous to be making fun of him for using "tubes" instead of "pipes". Are we really upset with him because he's uncomfortable and bad with words? Isn't our problem with him that he's nerdy?
Your remark, drig, is pretty nonsensical, all the more so given your "creds." Posters made fun of that idiot (you could go back a bit and make fun of virtually everything he has muttered) because he made his usual feeble attempt at articulating on a subject he is completely ignorant about. The Republicants routinely pontificate on morality when they behave immorally (by their very own definitions), on war and military service when they have never served in the military (or even worse - lie about their service like John Boehner, Richard Armitage and Pat Robertson-admittedly a charlatan and not - at this moment - a politician), about "supporting the troops" when they do everything to negate their service, etc., etc., etc.
If I had to choose between a Senator who hires prostitutes or one who was elected by dead people, I'd choose...
Not me! I would instead start a Congressional Diaper Service for all those Republicants with their peculiar diaper fetishes.....

You think they are just flushing money down a rathole since...
Wow! What a great idea, but don't give it a second thought, Good Citizen jorghis. I've just submitted a patent on the rathole, if people are flushing money down there I want to be the guy who pulls it out. (Outstanding post, BTW.)
I don't understand why the US is so against socialized health care.
Actually, no. The majority of the American citizenry are for socialized (universal) healthcare, but the corpocracy which runs North America is against it.
You've got free government funded education, a government run postal service, government funded police and fire departments.
I would debate as to government-funded education - it is certainly not equitably funded in the lower grades and definitely not free - I believe it is the most expensive in the world - at the college-level grades and beyond. Also, the postal service is a quasi-government run, and the transnational corporate powers that be are trying to completely privatize it, and are hellbent upon doing the same with the police departments - starting with the military and all those private intel/security/protection firms.....
When I was a kid, working people in America were actually knowledeable about the world they lived in - today so many appear completely delusional --- can anyone say: "PATCO supported Reagan and those chuckleheads paid the price for their folly."
I'm baffled as to why this is news. After all, certainly someone has heard of...oh, I don't know....Disney and Microsoft???? It's called licensing and many people, over the past three decades, have pointed out why it's far more profitable to go that route.
Well said, Good Citizen Jerry, well said. One item you neglected to mention (although I'm confident you are also aware of this): that's the same state where that f**kwit Republican governor leased their interstate toll roads (technically giving temporary legal ownership) to an Australian corporation (Macquarie Infrastructure Group) for the next 75 years. This also means - according to WTO rules and regs - that Macquarie has jurisdiction over those roads - meaning they can police it with their own private security force, etc. Screw America - now if only 1,000 trained American snipers could be convinced to.....
It's the FBI's job to look for domestic criminals.
You said it, clown, and I replied to it. If reading comprehension is your weak point, admit it like a man. But then no one has ever claimed that the ostrich is a man. The day the FBI is adequately serving the public is the day millions of Americans stop the complaints....
You truly are a complete moron if you don't have any idea what your sig stands for. Name all the four counts Libby was found guilty of? Quit your half-witted cherry-picking, idiot. The prosecutor's (who did a less than adequate job, BTW) name was Patrick Fitzgerld, you stupid f**kwit!

Botnet, for sure. Yeah, you're unequivocally correct. And I state that for the record as a card-carrying member of the Global Tinfoil Hat League (GTHL - restricted membership to carbon-based lifeforms only).
It's a vicious cycle, one we're beginning to see in the tech sector.
I would categorically state this has been the case for quite sometime with both the tech sector and the RN field.
There was a study out a little while ago, I think it was by either the Congressional Research Service or the GAO, that proved that over 90% of those H-1Bs don't have any advanced degrees, with quite a number not even possessing undergrad degrees in the pertinent subjects.
