    Crazy Scientists: We're not positive it will hit the Middle of Europe, it could hit slightly to the left, I'll take any sum of money to argue that you are wrong about the asteroid hitting the Earth....

    Government: We have vague reports from scientists saying there are asteroids, they all agree almost all of them will miss the Earth, or at least not hit our country directly.

    Won't it be hilarious for climatologists when the Ocean Conveyor shuts down and Europe experiences a mini ice age, killing 25% of Europe's population, but it happens 70 years after they predicted it? I can just see your kid (if God forbid you reproduce) posting on Slashdot saying "My Pa always said you were good for nothing bastards, you expected this 70 years ago!"

    I'm no climatologist, but I think they're different than weathermen.

    I don't think the message has been suppressed because Gore is a "nerd", it has more to do with politicians being, in general, idiots. Many elected officials, especially in the big leagues are more concerned about quick fixes for minor issues that will raise their visibility to get them elected again to do more of the same. I don't think many of them are capable of grasping the severity of the problem. Then there's big oil lobbyists manipulating their decisions in ways big oil lobbyists don't understand.

    As we've always known if you're smart enough to understand the impact of these issues, you're probably too smart to want to run for office.

    This review says more about the reviewer's issues as a nerd in high school, which he either graduated from last year or harbors such deep seated issues that he'll go "falling down" at his reunion.
    how do you respond when you try to say something serious and the cool kids laugh at you?
    Seriously, who thinks Republicans are "the cool kids"?

    Remember that Andromeda was Roddenberry's vision of the Trek universe. The Andromeda was the last ship in the Federation. All the ideas are always, go back, go forward, seperate area of an existing timeline, but this is the winner. Far in the future, different set of technologies, different agendas. I would have been all about Andromeda if it was done this way.

    If this scoop started showing up in a lot of other places, I'd believe it, but nothing exclusive to ThinkSecret has been true for about six months.

    We've already fogotten the rumors from the last conference. Apple will release a mac mini with frontrow 2 that has dvr functionality in conjunction with this vIpod where the two complete the media experience suggested by the existance of Tivo and PSP. With all the content deals Apple's been working on as well as the Disney deal, Apple's not so much poised to rule the living room as it is to moving the TV watching experience out of the living room entirely.

    And why bother with this vIpod anyway, does it not make tons more sense to invest in some kind of heads up display/glasses unit that turns that crappy little screen into a 12 ft personal movie screen? Didn't somebody announce that at CES?

    The funny thing is, I didn't even read the article. Slashdot is my homepage one one of my browsers, and when it came up, I noticed the latest story had no "Read More" line following the article (which means it was posted only seconds before). So after 10 years of reading Slashdot, I thought A new article, and nobody noticed yet! This may be my best chance ever!.

    The beautiful irony that resulted from my positive karma is that I pulled the ultimate geek stunt on this particular article.

    I'll tell you, the cosmic and real 100 karma points of my first and probably only successful first post far outweighs the slashdot negative karma of "troll"

    I also learned that you have to wait between clicking "reply" and clicking "submit", when that happened, my hopes were almost dashed.

    Now all I have to do is post every article I see on slashdot back to Slashdot so Zonk can post my first article.

    I think your looking for SSI, not CSS. SSI will allow you to "include" a menu page on all your other pages. If you make a change to that menu page, it appears sitewide instantly. It's like Dreamweaver "Templates", but usable.
