Actually, in a way you may be correct. Lots of people in high school and even college first learn about databases using Access and that's how they get their interest in it. I'm not saying they learn everything there is to know about Flash, but that the learn some of the basics and become interested in developing their skills with a better software package.
I think Sparkle (how creative is that... hmm, Sparkle/Flash....) will actually help Macromedia's sales of Flash MX. Not knowing anything about Sparkle, my guess is that people will use it to learn about Flash animations because it's included in the OS. Once people get to know how it works and such, they'll go out and by the "best of breed" solution, Macromedia Flash MX, to improve their skills.
Since most blog spammers will search for "Remember personal info?" in various search engines to quickly find personal blogs, I edited my MovableType templates. Now, instead of saying "Remember personal info?" on the comments page, I have something else that spammers don't normally search for.
No, I've got vending machines that accept $5's and change machines that accept $10's and $20's. As a college kid trying to do laundry, it was a pain in the butt.
I imagine this chnage in the currency will require new vending and change machines. I hope places do it a lot faster than the last time around... the school I went to still doesn't have a change machine that can support the most recent $5 bill.
You'd be surprised at how many companies operate that way. A company I used to work for blocked SSH but allowed Telnet access to the outside world. Seems kind of backwards to me.
I wonder if the "legitimate" hardware list will include TV cards for PCs or TiVo. I'm sure they're trying their hardest not to allow it (especially since TiVos run Linux)
why I'll be using SuSE or Red Hat from now on. You had to know there were problems with the company's financials when they took the stock information off their main page (that and the stock price had dropped below $4.00)
The best anti-spam tool I've found so far is SpamBayes, a great open source app that lets you decide what is spam and what isn't. Just train it for a few days (perhaps longer depending how much Spam you get in a day) and it'll filter all the junk mail to a separate folder. If there are any false positives (or negatives), just move it to a "good" folder and train it again. After a week of training, it hasn't failed once!
I see quite a few movies a year and I don't know if there's been one good movie with a good storyline in quite a while. There have been movies I've enjoyed and all, but not many have been good. The one with the best storyline was probably Pixar's Finding Nemo
Yeah, same here. When I worked in Connecticut, I wasn't even close to the average salary for my job description (and I had lots of experience). I recently took a job in Pennsylvania that had considerably better compensation.

His mom will be so proud that she'll install Mandrake on her machine and just run the screensaver all day.

Exactly.... the report would have been better if they had broken it down like this:
OS
% of Total Hacks
% of Servers running OS Hacked

And whomever started that fashion is a complete idiot.
