  1. Umm, couldn't they just have bought the music? on Lawyer Asks RIAA To Investigate Bush Twins · · Score: 0

Couldn't they have just used iTunes, Napster or one of the 100 other digital music services to buy it and then burn it to CD? So I would think automatically assuming a burnt cd is pirated now days is kind of dumb.

I live in the UK and a buddy of mine who is Scottish get Scottish notes when they are home. They are different notes, but still legal tender anywhere in the UK. However he oftens times has trouble spending them when he comes back home to England.

So as an American I would like to note that its not just Americans who don't recognize their own money.

I can't find the EFF link that listed the insane amount of money the RIAA (I think that is who it was) donated to her.

So what does this mean gaming industry? You have to buy the gov to keep them off your back.

If it were anything other than an attack on religion I'd keep my mouth shut, but it is a fake story on an anti-Christian site. Not news which as the slogan says news for nerds.

What annoys me more is just how easily people like to pin this type of ignorance on Christians. Do some people really act like this? Unfortunately yes. Does this mean all do. Goodness no. This is just another use of stereotypes, but is just accepted cause it is the in thing to do. This is like my experience of being an American in England. It is just acceptable to make fun of America and Americans.

Flame me on any of the statements above you want. Sure there are plenty that will want to target me for them. And yes I am a Christian.

The fact that governments tend to thing their citizens are to incompetent to handle themselves. It is like in Britain where you can't buy more than 16 Tylenol because of a fear that someone is going to kill themselves. I am getting annoyed by a bunch of people who have never used guns trying to take them away or wasting millions of dollars creating new laws that take rights away from law abiding citizens because they of their fear. That fear seems mainly due to ignorance. If a person uses them properly and use your head they are nothing to be feared. As has been said several time before on here, criminals are not going to buy them through legal channels. So the effect is you take almost all risk for the criminals for committing crimes. Somewhere on Eric Raymond's website it puts it well. If you are so anti-gun put a big sign in your front yard saying this is a gun free house and enjoy your visitors. Personally, if you are anti-gun I would say take a class on how to properly use one and realize that they are nothing to be feared in the hands of law abiding citizens and what ever laws you create aren't really going to affect criminals getting them. Just my 2 cents. incompte

Yeah, hate to tell you this but The "American History X" technique is illegal in the States too (Remember the part where Edward Norton goes to jail for it?) OK, What are you allowed to defend yourself with in this country. Just about every Brit I have talked to tells me you are not allowed to use a more powerful weapon than the person attacking/robbing you. How do you plan to have a weapon on yourself that is smaller? And from that point what are you allowed to carry. Fine for the sake of argument we won't go into the fact you can't carry guns. But you are not even allowed to carry pepper spray? Are you even allowed to carry a knife? Even if you are is it fair because the odds are the person mugging you probably has more experience with one. So the average Joe who hasn't studied some form of Karate for the past 10 years is screwed and subject to the attackers every whim. For some reason I don't think this is fair? For the most part all a mugger has to do is pick anyone off the street to mug without any fear of them putting of a viable defense. Then again we are talking about a country that won't allow you to by more than what 48? aspirin (paracetamol) at a time when they are afraid you might kill yourself. It is unfortunate when a gov't feels they have to build a nanny society that protects people from themselves and protect criminals. I would be curious to see what percentage of criminals caught doing this would actually go to jail. I don't think my country is perfect, but I do think there are serious issues when you can't even carry pepper spray to defend yourself. I also don't support excess violence when defending yourself, but as long as someone has presented enough of a threat to fear for your life you have every right to neutralize the threat, but once that threat is neutralized call the cops and don't do anything else.
