    So by this quote I can assume that since the 'situtation' on a computer is in reality changing constantly, I can be assured that for every 1000 seconds I am running a Win2K machine it will be in a crashable state for 1 of them? Of course we should be realistic and scale this down to instruction cycles instead of seconds, it is a Microsoft product after all...

    Yeah that was a great April's 1st joke. A friend of mine sent in a mail asking for more information, they sent him out the go faster stripes for his mouse that they were advertising as being free with that recharging mouse. ;]

    Using an excuse like that is like closing the barn door after the cows have escaped. Are you trying to say that any work of fiction that fills holes in a previous work is retroactive? If an event was not covered or mentioned at all in the _Original_ movies, its just someone else patching up invisible holes with silly putty.

    I noticed that this 'competition' is run on the MSN gaming zone, and is for Windows users only. This will eliminate just about everyone with an intelligence and chess ability that that could possibly approach Kasparov's own. This will obviously will tilt the game heavily towards Kasparov's favour, not that he needs to much help anyway.

    What amount of data could you store in DNA with that method? I guess this may be the first true molecular storage device. However it is hopelessly redundant since it has many DNA strings all with the same sequence stored on them. But considering the amount of data needed to encode a human being, I imagine you could possibly put audio/video streams in a sequence. Would take a while reading it back though, forget about streaming it.

    Red Mars was brilliant, Green Mars was pretty good, Blue Mars gets lost in a political mess. Yes I do feel the creation of an independant Martian Government is very relevant and a fitting goal for the final book of this series, however the day to day intricacies of creation a consitution can bore even the hardiest soul.

    The skycar appears to have airframe parachutes, something like the emergency 'chutes ultralights have. So assuming you were stupid enough to do this, you could just deploy the parachutes and float back down to earth (or water :] ).

    Well it says the 'car' has an intelligent fly by wire system. With todays technology couldn't an remote-autonomous system be implaced for busy sky-highways. For example you take off manually but once you are in the air a regional traffic management system takes over control and directs you to your desired destination that you have filed just before takeoff. As this system would always know where every air-car is at any given time it can keep an even seperation between all vehicles and plan well ahead for any turns etc. This may end up being a great deal safer than todays land based roads, simply by removing the idiot factor (human error).

    I very much doubt you could be cloned from tooth enamel. The required genetic material to be copied is just not in. You need _cells_, though remnant nerve cells in the base might be slightly viable..
