unfortunatly where I work the supervisors pray on you using a GBA. I don't use one but playing Simcity2k on my Cassiopeia also counts as a GBA apparently:(
Anyone know of a task swapper that can quickly go from Simcity2k to PocketWord w/the touch of a key on my keyboard?
haha, no. they were meant to be used. it was probably sometime during the 1960s that deterence was seen as a viable alternative.
Kennedy played his cards right and set a precedent.
What I am personally afraid of is some smaller nation obtaining nuclear warfare weapons and using them w/o the understanding of their true results. Not every war could be avoided by ignoring official memos from a drunken leader.
there was no need to settle. There was no need to take them to court. It was *absolutely* obvious that they were violating the law. They should have been fined and it should have been done and over w/.
The minimum that should have happened was that they would be fined for 15 years income and taxed on all their income for the past 3 years.
That's me though. You can't listen to me though, I don't know what I am talking about.
it gives people something to do. I personally don't care if we know every single last species on the planet but that is me.
As far as extinction goes. It happens. It happened in the past, it will continue to happen. I for one am for letting things happen as they do. When the dinos roamed it was for the most part hot, humid, and much like what we are heading for. If that is the case fine. If it kills off 90% of the species currently alive, fine. It happened before and new species formed.
actually she's really smart. she needs to use Office products for school. Why the hell would I bother w/Linux on it (it used to run Linux 4 years ago) when she only needs Office and Stat programs (that only run in Windows)?
If a piece of software is going to be used by me daily I consider buying it. Otherwise I copy it.
What sense is there in me buying Windows when I only use it on a laptop for my gf and for playing MP3s? What sense is there for me to pay $10 for the Office CD from school and only be able to install it twice (and have to keep that long number on record) when I can use a Warez'd copy that has no license?
I use Linux solely on my computer and I use only programs that I can get for free (WP, etc) but on computers that require Windows I rarely pay for software.
Sorry, I just don't have the money to be buying shit. If other college students do, they must have Free Beer.
my father works at an animal testing facility in PA. He has an iPAQ w/a 1G microdrive, wireless LAN connectivity, a laptop at home that monitors the temperatures in all the "cage rooms" (for lack of a better name for them) and calls him if there is any problem.
he has a rather small cellphone (I don't know how his old ass can see the numbers;) and he has had a handheld GPS unit for years.
He is 55, he is definitly not a "geek". He just likes devices that make his life easier.
even if it did work, wouldn't it be easier to just find some other method of stealing the information? Who the hell would want to sit there and reconstruct the data sent from blinking lights?
I find myself clicking skip intro and using the "non-flash" site all the time.
Maybe some people like blinking lights, animations, and bullshit, myself, I like clicking the damn link and seeing the porn. I don't need to wait for 3 mins for something to load (even over broadband) and then waiting 3 more minutes to find the bouncing lady to click.
you don't know anyone but they are there. Even if the weirdos use DSL/Cable they still have their fucking AOL via LAN connection. Why? I don't know, I guess b/c they love their buddy list or their web browser...
Most outages are 1 day or less (it is really annoying when you people call after the service is down for 10 mins complaining -- if it is down more than 12 hours, call otherwise, wait, it isn't that important, really.)
So for $1.67/day I don't consider that exactly what we are talking about here, but I may be wrong. Like I have said before. People are looking for lost wages, etc. They are not looking for 1.67/day.
a little increase in price? are you kidding? haha.
do you know how many calls a day a support tech would get saying that a user is going to sue for their money that they lost due to downtime. The fact that it is a recreational use service only (or a residential line) doesn't seem to get through their heads.
If you want an uptime guarantee that's fine. Most people demand lost wages. Sorry but a little increase in cost is NOT going to cover that (probably not guarantee uptime either).
If you want to pay $50/mo for service you get what you pay for.
ATTN to cable users: $50/mo is just about the equivilant of a T1 (more than $500). If you want guaranteed uptime then get a real connection.
I am not in a frat, but I do have a wireless LAN in my apartment. Playing MP3s to the stereo from a laptop (and using it to surf from the couch) is far easier and safer (for drunken idiots) than running ethernet to the living room from the hub in my room.
I do phone support and I hear a lot of people getting into wireless routers b/c of the ease of having it run to all the computers in the house. Why not do it for frats?
And unfortunatly I do have a WLAN but no kegerator;(
I have a 6000 level ID. I didn't even know it was a big deal until this year when someone mentioned something about me being here for song long that I should know better...
I'll sell it to you. Put a dollar sign in front of it and there's the starting bid. If everyone seems to be interested in them, they must be worth money:)
umm, that's not the reason man. If anything music would be bought more as a method of relaxation.
how about the fact that when I goto the store and I see 12.99+ for music and I think to myself, wow, I am paying $13.00 for something that cost them pennies to make...
If they were smart, they would drop the damn prices like they said they would, stop whining about piracy and make a product that would compete.
But they are whining little three year olds crying to Mommy and making me suffer. I will stick to free-music and burn my own CDs for.10 a CD.
MORONS. You cannot force us to make digital device copyprotected. It is the duty of the maker of the end product being copied to do so.
The land of the not-free.
And the arguments posted to my comments yesterday about whining Americans is bullshit. Just so you don't have to bother.
This is about me being forced by the government to use devices that are altered so I can"t do what I please. Soon cars are only going to go 65mph, my stereo will only goto 10 instead of 35, and alcohol will be 0%. b/c god forbid we have some sort of free choice.
wrong. This was an average person. Not a techno-geek.
I don't steal movies, music, or programs. I run free software, listen to music that is freely distributable, and pay for rentals and the occasional theatre.
Bullshit that people won't be pissed off if they can't copy this or that. The average joe is not going to be happy when they can't download their MP3s. My father nearly cried when Napster went down.
As far as American's whining over not being free... As far as I see it the Constitution originally granted a lot of freedom. We were really pissed off during the Civil War when the federal government became more and more centralized (conscription, taxes, and suspension of personal freedom). Ever since then we have been quiet and let it happen.
I will not let the fucking MPAA tell me what to do. Hell no.
I was just having a discussion w/someone last night about how unfree we are.
who the fuck are they to control PC's? If a vendor wants to force copy protection it is up to them. Tough fucking shit if we decide to boycott, destroy, crack, etc.
I am sorry but I would rather suckass w/the latest technology of today than suffer through copy-protected PCs of the future.
unfortunatly where I work the supervisors pray on you using a GBA. I don't use one but playing Simcity2k on my Cassiopeia also counts as a GBA apparently :(

I saw an iBook. My History professor has one. It is the prettiest god damn thing I have ever seen (I am talking physical not OS).
I would still be partial to Linux. I could not bring myself to run an OS full time on my machine that costs money.
I want an iBook or a cube bad. I would still have to run Linux though.
That's me, what do I know?

Just my worthless
uhh, nevermind that. what about the damn tank? :)
:)
Ok gradma, you somehow dodged the rocket, but you won't miss me running over you
Ahh, thank god you still believe the depression is going to happen again. $618, woohoo.
nevermind that. How about promoting penises, child porn, and taking acid.
How many of those movies promote that sort of crap? Fantasia, Little Mermaid, etc.
Fuck you Eisner, make a better tomorrow land, it bores me.
Flash is great and all but I hate it.
I will stick to HTML, thank you.
you don't know anyone but they are there. Even if the weirdos use DSL/Cable they still have their fucking AOL via LAN connection. Why? I don't know, I guess b/c they love their buddy list or their web browser...
Just worth noting.
I couldn't imagine that they wouldn't give that kind of compensation. Why would you be expected to pay for something that you weren't recv'ing?
ok, $50.00/mo typical cost for cable service.
$50/30days = 1.67/day.
Most outages are 1 day or less (it is really annoying when you people call after the service is down for 10 mins complaining -- if it is down more than 12 hours, call otherwise, wait, it isn't that important, really.)

umm, there stereotypes are true in this case, and *most* frats should be proud of it.
;-)
that's my opinion though.
as far as the "white smoke running through air tubes..." I KNOW WHAT IT IS
I am not in a frat, but I do have a wireless LAN in my apartment. Playing MP3s to the stereo from a laptop (and using it to surf from the couch) is far easier and safer (for drunken idiots) than running ethernet to the living room from the hub in my room.

BAH.
Just my worthless bitching today.
I was going to write about what everyone already knows (capital, pointless product, worthless hype) but we all know it so.
No shit it won't work.
