What has always struck me about the search for alternate fuel sources - biodiesel, ethanol, propane, hydrogen, what have you - is that even if we do find a new way to fuel our cars and trucks, we'd still need a large supply of petroleum for plastics which are used everywhere these days.
If this microbe actually produces the equivalent of crude oil, it could be used to make polymers and other petroleum byproducts as well. It sounds too good to be true.
We have a wiki for an online game that I help run, and it's become useless due to content spammers. It used to be one or two common pages that got hit once every month or two weeks with about 50 lines of links to quack pharmaceuticals. Now, it's 20 pages every day with the same number of links to porn and large blocks of explicit text apparently as filler. It's made the thing absolutely useless for what it's intended.
Actually I was basing it off of figures I saw recently for Gross Revenue and Net Profit for the entire Microsoft corporation. Thirty percent is obscene enough without having to inflate it by focusing on a single product line.
Interestingly enough, their Net Profit was almost the same as IBM's even though IBM's Gross Revenue was more than 3 times what Microsoft's was.
Another explanation is that our speech developed to use the frequencies they use because that's what our ears responded to best.

Bzzt wrong. There is no such thing as a 'cola nut'. Cola is an artificial flavor made of various citrus and fruit flavors.
Olds not the father of the automobile!
Someone mod this as troll. And don't click on the tubgirl link.
Funny, and it even scans better than most filks. Mod this up!

Oh yes, pirates harm Microsoft so much that they only have a 30% profit margin.
