"just" require all SMTP traffic to use TLS, and have them all under one CA, so everone can test the authentication of the sender.. of course.. this is only a pipe dream;)
Anyone know if there are any themes allready ported to gtk2? the default theme does not look very.... impressive. Now if someone would have ported the xeno* theme engine to gtk2... hmmm;)
Btw, what you can't see on the screenshots that some screen updates have been undergone a major overhaul in gtk2. For example take gtop, the process monitor. With gtk1.x it would flicker so much you can't use it. (Basicly the whole screen is redrawn each refresh, and u can watch the redraw:)
With gtk2 this is MUCH better, i guess due to double buffering. you only see the numbers change:) very cool !
for linux of course. that works with evolutuion. now that would be a product i would buy for sure. not only once.
I'm still looking for a good shared calendar solution for linux,i did try some of thoese webapps (phpgroupware etc..) but they don't cut it in daily use...
be carefull with that p166 box. IIRC nearly all of the original pentium line mainboards had faulty or non working usb support... (at least the older intel based chipsets did have, anyone remember USB = Useless Serial Board?;)
I don't nautilus its not activly maintained anymore. I'm using nautilus 1.1.10 right now, and i must say, its quite snappy. not that snappy as i whish it would be, but its fairly useable.
of course does SMTP have authentication ! see RFC 2554 ! it does solve your problem. really. use it. together with cram/digest-md5 auth.
Even most modern MTAs do support it, sendmail since version 8.10, postfix for sure, exim probably, and there is probably one of the bazillion patches for qmail that will solve this problem;)
thats irrelevand to our stuid legal system;) Mr. Gravenreuth is also famous for filling injunctions about the word "Explorer" used in a computer-enviroment. Mind u.. M$ did "license" the name explorer in germany;) aw.. what the joy of a good legal system;)
I had exactly the same problem, about 1 year ago, appearently it isn't fixed yet. I did exchange a few emails with the IDE maintainer, but he could not help me:(
the sollution was not to put maxtor drives as slaves !?
of course u can write a semi-complex form-driven web database without using cookies.. just use ur imagination about the other toolsets. i.e. use an HTTP AUTH to identify user/session, then store the cookie data server side (keyed with the AUTH login)
I totally agree that google wipes out *any* competition. However.. what happents when the cometition is gone ? will google still play that nice as it does now ? will it leverage its monopoly ? Am i the only one who is afraid of that ?
I just did try with mozilla 0.9.4, no luck. Pressing any of the mouse buttons on blank screen space only the right button open the context menu, the other 4 do nothing.
(using win2k sp2, and no additional intellimouse drivers, and it works perfectly in IE 5.5)
I got an M$ Intellimouse with 5 buttons + wheel
(if u count the wheel as buttonts, then it has 7)
In IE the 4th button is the Page back feature.. this is WAY more convinient than every possible guesture, just press ur thumb , and page back.
Any way to configure Mozilla to have the same behavior ? The best i found is using key for page pack, but as written below u need 2 hands for that... Any ideas ? Do i need to fill out a mozilla bug ?:)

uh, that would be insanely stupid. what about the country tlds ? like .int .uk .us .ca, etc ?
Hmm .. a few weeks i did file a bug report about this, and it was commented "feature request", did you include it in the lastest versions ?
evolution's IMAP features are BASIC, most of all, its missing NAMESPACE ! thats very important if you have many shared folders ...
If u want to try a real powerfull albeit commercial IMAP client try mulberry (also for Linux/x86) at http://www.cyrusoft.com/

Their new file format ROCKS :)
Basicly its a pkzip encoded directory tree with a pictures folder, XML metadata and content, really looks nice !
Here in germany its 190 DM (about 90 us$) for 10 MB .. :(

And they wonder why noone is using this
in fact the only application for gprs would be to check your email with a handheld computer.
Surfing the web is way too expensive with it
