    depends on the applications your using and what system calls they make.

    I have seen it both ways myself. as I said it is a small problem. because of numbers windows computers it is noticeable. I don't think it is even easy to recreate either. There are ATC servers at LAX that need weekly reboots. Yet a home user playing games may or may not be fine.

    the exact combination seems unknown. a bug that is difficult to reproduce in closed software will never get fixed. As each vendor will blame each other.

    Windows as an OS has a small memory management problem. Something doesn't release right when it should. This is small only happens a small percentage of the time but is constant. Maybe some weird swap/ram bug.

    It isn't hardware as all windows boxes have the same problem.

    Not really. you may want to turn on the upstairs hallway from the Dining room, kitchen, etc.

    Outside lights are also commonly setup that way. multiple switches from multiple locations.

    USB wasn't a standard option at the time of windows 98. Indeed it wasn't until winXP that you could use a USB keyboard easily, as the built in BIOS wouldn't use USB keyboards for setup.

    Apple doesn't pioneer a lot of things. apple is usually the first to bring them to the mass market intelligently.

    Also USB support in windows 98 sucked. you needed to install drivers for everything but mice and keyboards.

    what we use the army for isn't what it is designed for . The US army aren't police and shouldn't be used to keep the peace.

    I also agree that something has to give in the USA spending strategies. However while we may only rarely directly benefit from some of those, things like the internet, UAV's, even submersibles all allow us to see our word and do things that would never come to bear without someone losing tons of money on them to begin with.

    a lot of the really cool tech and refinements out there today are because the USA military spent tens of millions 2 decades ago on abstract and weird ideas that had very little return.

    good you have the basics, now go back and learn which horizon your shooting over and how one shoots over the horizon to begin with.

    There is plenty of time for a laser to hit naval artillery and missiles while they are flying over the horizon and the target they are attacking

    What planet do you live on? But the humans of earth are a jealous lot, full of hate and mistrust, and belief that their way is the only way to live, and that all other ways must be eliminated.

    Before you go spouting off stupid again why don't you take a look at the shear number of fanatics in the world(christian, muslim, jewish, whale watcher, environmentalist, whatever) and decide if your small army will work againist people who don't believe in reason and are willing to fight to the death for their illogic.

    actually they will notice then when the movie looks funny. Also most people have older sets, this will end up like region encoding. it will get set, all sorts of random problems will appear and studios will stop actually turning it on as it causes more problems than it solves.

    Sure blue ray and DVD are region encoded, but a surprising number of them are set to region 0 as they discovered people like to give movies as gifts to friends in other countries.

    I think it was Bush who gave Tony Blair a stack of America DVD's as a gift one year only to find out the region encoding prevented them from playing in the UK. The Studios caused a politician to look bad. that always gets things changed.

    Now all you need is an operating system that changes the GUI whenever you switch modes from tablet to laptop.

    Because for the last 10 years MSFT has been doing just that and the end result is people have to use it as a laptop because a laptop GUI isn't the same as a tablet GUI.

    So 10 years of reality has proven that your wrong.

    Apple will not disclose what you buy and are reading to publishers. it is why publishers are all pissed off.

    Google will not only tell the publishers what you are doing but also sell that to their own ad services, so you find ads for your favorite fetish porn while reading books to your kids.

    I actually want both. The hubble is awesome because it has multiple camera's and can view objects in multiple wave lengths.

    Infrared is good, ultraviolet is good, but you can't get some of the stunning images the Hubble has produced without some visible wavelengths as well.

    What was that comet? Levy 9 that hit jupiter years ago?? only the hubble got good images off of that. James webb won't be able to do such things. So we need both or even better, both in a binocular fashion. So we can see the same image from the same spot in multiple wave lengths to really get a good idea of it.

    No but I have heard of a couple that have begun to exaggerate their involvement. The worst offenders are usually great great grandkids of confederate soldiers. Seems like every single of them knew General Lee personally, and worked with him closely.

    That's only because the string broke and they had to replace it anyways. After break the string 20 times the knots holding it back together had ultimately shortened the range below levels they considered acceptable.

    How they knot the piano wire when it breaks will be interesting.

    The bible is about as fictional as listening to WWI stories from the son of a vet who served there.

    While accurate in a broad sense the details may or may not be so accurate. The bible's biggest problem is that it has been translated so many times that the original hebrew and greek versions differ from the modern day versions.

    And if you use the King James version you are specifically using a version dumbed down by a king to make it easier for the stupid people to understand.

    Forget Helicopters a couple of UAV's. before and during an event can give you a lot of that information.

    Add in gps tracking for select units(not the package but some of the guards) and you effectively have command and conquor Real Life edition.

    The big trick is to not control your guys to tightly as unlike game AI's these units can actually think.

    I can't count the number of times I have had a conversation with some about how evil the government is, how the government shouldn't be paying for all these things while at the same time they are collecting those very same benefits every day.

    Take a look at medicare, Unemployment wages, and social security. at least 50% of the people collecting are republican voters who are pissed that the government is spending money on those items. They want those benefits but want someone else to pay for them.

    I had one woman all pissed off at obama because my car didn't come with a cigarette lighter even though my car was a 2007(2 years before he took office), My previous car didn't have one either, and the car before that the lighter was only included because it happened to be an option on the car when i bought it. That takes us back to the year 2000 yet Obama is to blame for her not having a light. Even though not including them had been standard for American cars for the last 10 years.

    That is your typical republican. a complete hypocrite who doesn't comprehend the world around them and doesn't care too. Democrats are generally not much better.

    Actually the hood, barrio and welfare office, and homeless shelters are all bastions of hardcore conservatives.

    Rule number one of conservatives is that they are hypocrites in the extreme. They very much live by do as I say not as I do mentality. The poor and elderly are the ones saying that they shouldn't pay for medicare or welfare, or even unemployment while using those services regularly. They want the rich to pay for those services for them however it is those same rich people who want to stop those services. Hence why no republicans will actually change things for the better. They can't without either pissing off those who give them money or those who support them.

    to be fair Democrats aren't much better either. Democrats attack different topics but basically do the same thing.

    How about a plugin that requires direct hardware access in order to function?

    forget an OS, or browser needing hardware access a friggin plugin requires it.

    That is flash. it is also why it is not very portable. it is also why the arm versions don't implement the full flash feature set even though adobe says it does. There are many flash websites that simply don't work with 10.1 mobile flash.
