    err seriously your embarressing yourself here. smtp is not a file transder protocol. there's a hugh difference between to 2 on a techincal level. try to send a 100 meg file as an attachment then do the same using ftp and see which gets there sooner. the main problem is that email gets retransmitted atleast 3 times to get to it's destination. if people had any brains they would provide a LINK to the data they want you to download.

Simple as that." - no you fucking idiot, no one is forcing the cable companys to install cable at a loss. the cable companys don't like the terms of a cable franchise in some towns so they've begged/bribed the fcc into changing to law to suit them. i say agin so your thick head gets it - they aren't forced to do anything - THEY are the ones persueing the business.

    no one is forcing them to sell there. what this means is communities don't have to right to demand equal service to all it's citizens in exchange for a cable franchise.i say again, no one is forcing them to sell anything at a loss. they could just not take the deal offered. what you will see come out of this, the poor getting poorer, and the rich getting richer. which never ends well for society, be it technical or financal matters.

    no, he is correct. what you plebs fail to understand is most HD's lie about their transfer speeds. they use a cache to get a BURST speed of 60mbs, but that quickly falls away to less them 25. yes that's right, BURST SPEED. obviously burst speed does not apply to steaming things which are a sustainted hd write/read. and before some little smartass pops up and says oh yes but scsi.. NO. most people don't have fucking scsi's.

    what you are proposing is impossible and will result in subpar office suites which is eactly what FOSS does *not* need. you can interoperate with other people who use word just fine by exporting to PDF for those with older word versions and to opendoc for people in the future. the REAL problem isn't word it's fucking excel, which really needs to be banned from business computers since it's responible for giving middle managment tards the idea that they can program. same deal with access. the moment someone comes up with a entirely web based office suite they you can pay a low monthly subscription to use, and that works really well, you will see office begin to lose it's domination. so much time and effort does into fixing and supporting office it's unbelieveable. this constant pandering to MS has to stop if we are to ever get anywhere with open spec office documents.

    i don't see why people are so obessed about being compatable with office documents. the whole point is to force office out, adding compatablity only give it greater leverage to change their formats and screw you over. far better to create a suite that uses open format documents in xml. while you continue to pander to the make everything compatable with MS products crowd, you will not win.
