    fuel isn't the big cost in freight though, even though the transport industry makes a big deal out of it.

    registrations and regulation costs + wages is the big ticket items. all things considered fuel is still very cheap when you look at just how much work it does.

    give them a remote shell that's run via an ssh encrypted session (block the file transfer option). this way it's much harder to wholesale copy the data, or more likely, lose it and have it fall into the wrong hands.

    it's not good sending it to them encrypted if they just decrypt it and store it themselfs in an insecure fashion.

    not too bright are you. MS doesn't have to offer discounts on EVERYTHING, just run promo's where the merchant gets to advertise that item for free if they offer a discount. it's common for shops to offer loss making items to get people in the door, this just extends that model onto the internet.

    it's more like 50% genetics. i know lots of skinny people who by all reckoning should not be skinny. i'd say only 1/2 the people i know who are over weight are so due to food or lack of exercise.

    it won't provide base load unless he's found some magical way to make the wind blow all the time and increase on demand.

    still it's not a bad way to suppliment our supply. wind is cheap to setup and run and does produce a large amount of power. it also makes very good us of land as they typically farm cattle etc under the turbines.

    easy. decent crypto systems already have a distress key as an option. this means you give them the distress key so your appearing to comply. you hide something fairly harmless with the distress key (family photo's or some crap) and you keep the private data they are looking for safe. unless you have something they really want and are willing to go as far as torture to get it, but i'd suggest getting the hell out of the country before it gets to that.

    nonsense. the largest thermo solar power plant is just 64 mega watt - enough for 15,000 homes. compared to coal fired stations that can supply 700,000 homes, yes it's a JOKE.
