    DirecTV and Dish Network are two seperate corporations. DirecTV is initiating these lawsuits while Dish Network is not.

    DirecTV has much stricter controls over who can sell and install their equipment so I initially assumed you were referring to Dish Network. I would be intrigued if this practice were occurring with DirecTV equipment.

    Court in the Eastern District of Michigan. The Court issued an Order
    granting Summary Judgment as to all counts of DirecTV's case against Eugene
    Karpinsky. The Court affirmed that contrary to DirecTV's argument, mere
    possession of two smartcard recovery systems (unloopers) is insufficient to
    support a finding of liability under 47 U.S.C. Sec. 605(a), 18 U.S.C. Sec
    2511(1)(a), or 18 U.S.C. Sec. 2512(1)(B)or demonstrate a claim of
    conversion.

    What function does NASA serve?

    Could those functions be served more efficiently by multiple, smaller, privately run organizations?

    Why spend so much on manned flights when all of the experiments are simple enough to be automated?

    One advantage of a privately run organization is that they can take risks.

    When did space travel become something that has to be risk free, with every death being a tragedy?

    In the year 2002 42,850 people died in automobile crashes in the US . These deaths accomplished nothing.

    What if a fraction of that number, say 500 people, died every year in an attempt to increase humanity's capability to get off this rock. Would that be such a tragedy?

    I think salary in that profession has more to do with the membership quotas that the local unions set than with supply of labor.

    y, the auto industry has all moved their jobs overseas, to asia, mexico, wherever.

    They only move the plants to Mexico, to take advantage of NAFTA. If they moved them overseas they would have to pay the same tariffs that made-in-SomeWhereElse autos do (2.5% for cars & SUV's, 25% for Pickup Trucks).

    Atlanta already spends $12,960 Per-Pupil and is one of the worst public school districts in the nation. You think giving these incompetent jackasses more money is going to help?

    Look at DC. Highest funded district in the country and they perform worse than all 50 states.

    What Democratic process? Laws/treaties are passed and enforced by the European Commission whose members are appointed.

    The European Parliament is the body that is elected directly by the people, but all they can do is talk and send proposals to the Commission for their consideration. If they don't like the laws the commission passes they can pound sand.
