    Ok, that's obviously a question of personal preferences, but I can much easier handle 100 business cards (real) then 100 JPEGs somewhere on my microSD card which is plugged in somewhere in my mobile phone (God knows where the bugger is ! I tried !).
    At least, it is much faster to throw away the 90 useless ones.
    The day after the big trade show party, once I get sober enough to realize which are those.

    you don't understand this if i'm willing to pay, i pay if i'm not willing to pay, i get it from my friend at the end of the day, if the provider gives me what i want, and i have money, i pay if the provider has healthy and productive audience, he profits but when i pay, i expect to be able to burn cd, save as mp3, save as ogg .. and i'm not going to install any propietary software on my machine if i have no other option, i will rip it somewhere so there are two options, either they let me buy it legaly, or not

    the scalability is a key factor here -> gas, coal or oil plant isn't going to power your handy (directly)

    solar panel can, as it can be scaled much easier

    so why outsource ? i don't believe that you can outsource a project and get a final result in 1-3 weeks... so it makes NO sense

    don't forget, significant part of these 13M will stay in germany, may help to create new jobs there, etc ...

    so paying 7M for windows can be more expensive (for germany at least) than paying 13M for linux

    i think that windows should be banned from internet

    or at least, providers should charge windows users
    more for the service, since their spam is using
    much more bandwith then my emails and surfing

    for everyone who really insist having windows,
    would suggest dual boot pc, one partition with
    linux for email, surfing, etc; and another one
    with windows for playing, video editing, ... whatever else

    i'm not trying to do video editing on linux
    because there are better tools for windows;
    and for the same reason, people should not use
    their windows computer for internet, it just sucks

    one of the reasons i've adopted gentoo on production servers
    syncing with two months delay and only selected packages (against my own portage tree), i'm still running 'up to date' system, and i don't need to think about 'another big update'

    as long as gentoo officially exists, at least ;-)

    since i have started, there were already two releases of mandrake and two releases of fedora core, so it has been worth it

    copy&paste is an example of something you'd expect to work, even between different toolkits; because if you are just an user, you don't care about toolkits krusader is a fila manager, something like total commander for windows and it doesn't work properly under gnome env. .. and it can be a pain

    try to use krusader within gnome, and try to use it to mount a cd, then unmount it, and then eject it

    why ?

    i'm not saying that it is bad, but it does not work sometimes
    with that crappy windows you have one fucking api, one fucking scheme, one fucking everything
    but sometimes it is working pretty good

    i haven't said that it is a problem to copy&paste between KDE and Gnome in general

    with two clipboard buffers, you have more ways how you can use them incorrectly in your app

    exactly !

    of course, there some apps where ctrl-c have a specific meaning, like gnome terminal
    but there you can use shift+ctrl+c and shift+ctrl+v instead
    possibly you can change your key bindings and get used to ctlr+something to use instead 'standard' ctrl+c in terminal

    sometimes it is painful to copy&paste between gnome and kde apps, but this has nothing to do with two clipboards in X
