I don't usually comment on game threads 'cause I don't play games, but that's what this comment is about actually.
I love reading the threads. I don't understand but every other damned word usually, but the adamant stances and knowledge are both amusing and impressive to read.
How interesting. An anonymous complaining to a real about his misinterpreting nuance in another anonymous' comment - and all the while pretending to be the other anonymous poster. Brilliant!
If it turns out the believers were wrong and their implemented 'fix' ruins the planet, we're all screwed.
See, that's the problem with going ahead with something you're not sure will fix what you can't actually prove. You've lowered the bar on what it takes for me to show you shouldn't do it. Just some more "ifs".
It doesn't and they don't. A society has to become affluent enough to have the time and energy and give a shit to look past "How do I eat today?"
Enviros tend to paint the past as if they were crusaders riding in and waking everyone up to something they discovered. I was around then. I grew up in an area that was abominably polluted. It was already cleaned up before I left. That was the sixties.
The phrase "potentially dire effects" reminds me of the phrase "potentially brilliant comment". Neither reflect on the actual state of things and their probable outcome.
Frankly, no. Your software is used to determine conclusions. It should be as available and legible as any other portion of the output or your conclusions are suspect.
Else wise, you wind up with "Oops! Can't find it or don't know what that part does."
And that excuse fails them here in the US. Even edge Christian groups condemn them, the FBI does label them terrorists, and you have not a fucking clue as to their immunity as there have been arrests, trials and convictions. What planet are you from?
"My point is terrorist should have never been dealt with any differently than any other criminal. That's what they are - serial murders. The motivation behind their crimes is secondary. Every serial killer has their reasons."
You mean, other than the international support network, right? They aren't just any other criminals. Their own words and actions belie that.
"few dozen random, organized people"
Pardon?
Finally, reacting to an attack is not the equivalent to starting WWIII. Interesting you didn't equate launching the attack as the equivalent.
He's right in almost all states and you're wrong.

You need to brush up on facts. What you spouted is very far from reality.

Don't care who ya are, that's funny.
"Nobody is physically injured."
They're not facing execution. What's you point? Non-injury activities are sanction-free?
"Probably, but has that been litigated?"
Yes, and the protesters lost. This is why abortion protesters can't block access.
"If standing in front of a building in protest in a way which prevents entry is free speech,..."
It's not. This is well known. See above.

They need to convince better *first*.

The doctor who set my broken arm when I was thirteen was Dr. Bonebreaker. Shit you not.
One made an admittedly disgusting wish on a crude techno board, the other actually stole from a large number of people and corporations. I disagree.
Even if not, you still lose a chunk of life having to replace what should be a perfectly fine and functioning card. Maybe the rest, to be sure.
Not really complicit, that implies intent. The word you want is culpable.
"Nice story, but some could easily spin it as his failure to keep up with and understand how things work."
Not with a functioning moral compass.
Never the actual perp, the bad guy making the choice to take something not his. Never him.
Wow. Talk about hive mind.

My comment was expressed at the overseas demonstrations. Sorry, i should have immediately agreed with the US aspect.
It would help if many of those would quit ululating any time a bomb destroys US property or people.

Then by all means, let us do so.
