    No, political persecution was invented about a couple millennia or so earlier. The Nazis needed scapegoats. The Jews were different and low in number, therefore convenient. Like political hectoring today, it had nothing to do with reality. Hitler's religion had nothing to do with his goals or implementation.

    They are Muslims, extreme and aberrant but Muslims, just as Phelps and crew are aberrant Christians (albeit not murderous). As for legitimacy, name them, make them a legitimate target and bomb them to oblivion. If you don't make them legitimate, some group of squealers will claim we're waging war against civilians.

    Completely depends on the animal being studied. Many animals behave very differently if they know humans are watching.

    You're still using sophistication as a yardstick. Some animals will modify a natural object to work better. Your specificity is merely a moved goal post.

    If and only if said species is closely related. Socially motivated animal behaviorists have made claims about birds and then extrapolated them to humans. Very bogus.

    Many people are of the opinion that they can read animals' minds and motivations. Same thing goes for humans. It's a common problem in Soc Sci and one good reason why it's not really science based.

    Yes, but some people are so vested in the "for mating" meme that they will extrapolate until it's reached. You cannot mate if you do not survive is true, but the surviving is denominator enough on its own.

    Some very smart people engage in violence because they want to or they find it profitable. It's a Soc Sci construct that violence is only a resort of be "forced into a corner".

    Changing a theme for the sake of changing a theme isn't moving forward, it's just remodeling the kitchen. I happen to like my older theme because it's become invisible to me now. That's what I want in an OS UI. Why change for the sake of? It's like comparing car styles. Meh.

    Something is wrong with either your machine or whatever is controlling the switching. I have never, ever had anything like what you've mentioned and my system has been running for months on end as well. You sir, most likely have non-Windows related problems.

    One can always "what if" the situation to weigh in favor of whichever side you want. It's that "significant" and "relevant to the job" that's the cheat in your example. Let's say the CS major had significant course projects that were relevant to the job as well or just drop the significant and relevant from the E Lit candidate.
