Uh... They've had it in beta for a couple of years now.
They've mostly been waiting on drivers and manufacturers to catch up. They're hoping that, by releasing it, the pace of 64-bit drivers and applications being readied will be accelerated.
Waking up an hour earlier would have the same consequences as moving the clocks forward an hour. That's all my point is.
If some people don't like the lack of sunlight in the afternoon they can change latitudes or wake the F up earlier. Don't go screwing around with my clock. DST is the most insane idea ever.

"pollution-free alternatives like hydrogen power instead"
It takes energy to produce hydrogen. It is still a carbon-increasing energy source if fossil fuels are used to make the hydrogen. On a side note, using this process to make oil from organic sources, using that oil to produce energy, then finally using that energy to produce hydrogen may be a good idea...
The last section of the article Forbes explains how it is better than drilling carbon from underground and releasing that into the atmosphere. The TDP process fits into the natural carbon cycle, and does not increase the net carbon involved in the cycle.
As an avid fisherman, I'm pretty excited about this. Any structure offshore (floating or submerged) will hold bait, which will help support larger sea life.
That kind of estimate is based on the assumption that we'll keep increasing demand for fossil fuel at historic rates, which really isn't likely. It also depends on the assumption that we won't find any more oil in places such as Alaska, which also isn't likely.
I'm not advocating a continual reliance on fossil fuels, I'm just trying to bring a shade of reality to the subject.
I agree with everything you say, more or less. I was just making a point that the liberals (I'm a libertarian, if that helps) have a bunch of whackos spearheading their PR campaigns, which doesn't help them one bit.
By the way, even Republicans would be 100% for freeing us from foreign dependence on oil. Just convince them that they can make money off of it first, then they'll jump on board.
If we're going to factor in environmental change for the price of oil, let's factor it in for wind power too. Who knows what effects slowing the wind down on a massive scale will have on the climate?
I still think wind energy is a *great* idea - but your post is more sensational than insightful. It's the radical sensationalism that's associated with good ideas like this that turn many rational people off of liberal ideas. Who wants to be on the same side as Michael Moore and the ELFs?

The My Lai Massacre? Are you kidding me? This happened during the middle of a nasty war. The Lieutenant who ordered the attack was charged with murder. No one in our government condones what happened. Does Bin Laden condone 9/11?
It's a similar situation with Abu Ghraib - except who really cares if some people took photos of some naked prisoners? I know they shouldn't have done it, and they should be punished for it, but we honestly have much bigger things to worry about.
It's a shame that most of America (check the election results) associate extremist whackos like you with the Democratic Party. If you extremists would keep your mouth shut the liberal politicians might could get something accomplished.
It's all a matter of perspective. If you are looking from the far left (like an editor of fair.org) then it must be on the right.
If you're looking from the right, it must be on the left.
Your post looks like a political ad. It's full of deceitful numbers that support only your point of view. For example, why compare Fox's "Special Report" with CNN's "Wolf Blitzer Reports" instead of comparing the entirity of the network's content? Your were trying to make a point about the network, not Wolf Blitzer, right?
And what definition of "right-leaning" or "left-leaning" are we using? Are "right-leaning" people anyone who is more to the right than the fair.org editor? If so, should we be surprised at the results?
CNN said a focus on civilian casualties would be perverse. The keyword here is "focus." It does not say that CNN thinks civilian casualties shouldn't be reported and discussed - it says that focusing on the civilian casualties would be perverse. This is such a vague statement that both righties and lefties could use it to make a point about CNN.
I'm sure some righty could post just as many reasons (or maybe more) to show that CNN is a left-leaning network. I'm not going to bother b/c I'm not a righty (I voted Libertarian).
The main thing that turns me off from both parties is deceitful advertising - much like your post.
Yes, the US wars have led to many bad things happening. However, to try and equate the decisions and actions of the US government with the "terrorists" is a pretty big stretch.
Let me know when George Bush beheads someone and airs it on TV.
Even if the US army drops bombs and kills some civilians, it was for a military objective such as taking control of a city, or bridge. 9/11 was an action, like most "terrorist" actions, that was not towards a military objective, but rather just an act to get attention and cause fear in the populace affected.
Killing trees keeps millions of acres of habitat available in the Southern US. If we quit killing trees for paper, these tree FARMS will be sold to developers and permanently cut down.
It's only a big deal now because someone thought up a buzzword with the letter "X" in it, and because Google is using this technique.

Quit being so damn lazy! Why change time when you can just change your F'ing alarm clock!?!?
The school zones could change their start times. No wait, it's probably easier just to change time for the whole F'in nation.
You could just wake the F up earlier.

I meant the second article - the one from mindfully.org. There is no Forbes article.
The last section of the article Forbes explains how it is better than drilling carbon from underground and releasing that into the atmosphere. The TDP process fits into the natural carbon cycle, and does not increase the net carbon involved in the cycle.
It will probably just proxy everything and put up a page with an ad frame and a content frame.
