Does anyone else see the VERY obvious discrepancy between the submission title and the submission? Where are the editors?
Last time I checked, 0.7 mil != 1 mil.
Did you really just say that wireless, a home network option of *at best* half the throughput of 100 base-T, is a better option than 100base for transferring data across a cluster?
Can't we come up with something better or is the open source movement just going to settle on becoming a Microsoft ripoff scene?
If by 'we' you mean 'you develop it and I'll enjoy your labor for free', then the answer is 'maybe we'll come up with something that suits your tastes better'. If by 'we' you mean 'let's all work on developing this, including me', then certainly, you are free to come up with whatever better thing you like. Satisfied?
Easy enough, go with a filtering router or proxy. I recently purchased a router from 8e6 which does this well. Unfortunately my particular router seems to lock up every other time I open AIM requiring a hard reboot, but I'm working with the manufacturer on this and it only seems to affect my particular unit. Linux, Mac, Windows, etc. all have no affect on this as it is entirely OS independent.
I have a particular box that experiences this problem and I've been unable to figure it out. It tri-boots windows 98SE, Windows 2000 (has also ran Windows XP Professional in place of Win2k), and Debian Sid.
This problem only shows up when I'm using win2k or winxp. I've replaced the drive, the power supply, reformatted, etc. but it keeps happening when I'm using windows 2k/xp. The ironic thing is that I have two optical drives in this computer and only the first one disappears.

Wow, I can remember when I used to be a newsie for GU... ...back in 1999
This is the first mention of them I've heard since I left. Sad
Or, if you're so inclined to design your own printed circuit board (PCB), Express PCB offers a reasonably priced service.
The saying is "Cheap, fast, and reliable. You can only have two." How true it is.
I just used it on Windows XP Professional without trouble. YMMV
I guess they really care about redundancy. I would too if I wanted to make sure it could stay in the air for 18 months.

I suspect there is a great deal of "prior art" over that already. ;-)
One word: VNC.

If you're the type to drive a McClaren F1, you may want to look at the best keyboard money can buy. It even summons Jesus!
This does not work as even the Outlook-like program, Entourage for OS X can not import Outlook data.
