  1. TPS Reports!! on New Grads Shun IT Jobs As "Boring" · · Score: 0

hmm lets see,..spend 4 years getting a comp sci degree,..then spend X number of years watching your skills wane as you spend all your productive time managing TPS reports for the 7 managers that you are "dotted-line" to. Then once you get savvy enough with said TPS reports and mindless meetings, the dept decides "to go a whole new direction" which basically means your job has been outsourced to India,..(usually timed right after you sign a mortgage and new car loan).

In an earlier thread someone mentioned about "us" 40 year olds who had to fix their teenagers computers,.. There was actually a company years ago(early 90's) called Simware that had products called simpc, simpc master, and If I can remeber a MAC version as well. For connecting your pc to a mainframe and transfering files back and forth,..

  6. Any Chance of A Frame-Plugin For Scribus? on Adobe Kills FrameMaker for Mac · · Score: 1

Is there any chance of a framemaker plugin for scribus? or is this just too incompatable? For instance, its not uncommon for several office apps to be able to import docs from other apps,..if all you want to do is be able to read certain documents then you're saddled with Windows,..Adobe should ask their frame-on-windows licensees, how many of them are running windows within VMWare!

I thought that the plan was to introduce a new bootloader called the "extensible firmware interface". http://www.intel.com/technology/efi/index.htm?iid= sr+efi& I've been holding off a new pc purchase for a Petium 5, BTX form Factor, and hopefully EFI

yes, although the reason for that was to raise revenue for the state run broadcasters BBC tv/radio et el,.. who in the past did not run advertisements (not sure if they do now run ads) I think Germany requires a Radio License, I know Canada used to,.. But am I not paying enough to my ISP? One must consider the reason behind this putsch for internet licenses, seems like the powers that be dont approve of what we right,. what we share , or what we have the gall to think,..for ourselves,.. and please, spare me the worn out demagoguery of "doing for the children!"

  9. King of the Hill Fans Watch Out!! on Should Innocently-Named Porn Sites Be Illegal? · · Score: 1

I'll go you one better,... years ago there was an episode of "King of the Hill" where Peggy is tricked into having her feet pose for an Internet Porn site,..which was named "peggysfeet.com" Now this is clearly repeated over and over in the episode,..peggysfeet.com,.. of course when the show first aired during prime-time, that domain was owned by a Fox company,..and basically is was a tongue-in-cheek promo site for the show,.. but now that the show is in syndication,.. the domain name has lapsed and been picked up by squatters,.. (evil purveyers of porn!!!) yet, in the episode,.. (in reruns!) the site is still called,... "peggysfeet.com" so now Fox, and the stations airing this show are inadvertantly advertising a porn site in a cartoon,... hmmmm, so does this bill included promoting porn sites in a carton?
