Wireless rocks in particular if you want to have your little box 0wn3d. Or does wireless come with proper encryption/authentication these days? I tried building a wireless network at work one day, but it never worked because the goddamn WLAN cards wouldn't talk to each other with the "encryption" on.
If I knew that my ISP keeps such logs and is prepared to give them to the authorities, I'd become a former customer in no time
Sure kiddie porn is awful, but the right to privacy should not be eroded even if few people abuse this right. I'd say the freenet's uncompromising position is the only way to go.
It really takes a change in culture - to include things like better bike lanes, showers and changing rooms, more places to lock up a bike, etc, before we'll see any mass migrations to bike commuting here.
I agree.
I guess the Netherlands and Denmark are the only truly bike-friendly countries in Europe. Amsterdam, in fact, is the only city where I got the impression that cars are actually at a disadvantage.
Please, go right on ahead and point out why spam is not the same as a commercial.
I'd be happy to.
I don't know about you but for me e-mail is an important part of my work - not something comparable to watching cable TV.
Spam clogs my mailbox and I have lost several important e-mails from clients when deleting the spam which, by the way, is often disguised as legitimate non-commercial mail and comes with forged headers. In addition to pushing fraudulent products, these facts make spam a completely different beast from the cable TV and its legitimate, controlled ads which eat up only my free time - not my emails or work efficiency.
Ever considered that a bike has several advantages over a car:
1) You'll get your daily exercise. It does not stress your joints so even if you're overweight you can start cycling straight away.
2) No more getting stuck in a traffic jam, breathing the fumes and sweating your ass off.
3) It's environmentally friendly.
4) It's inexpensive.
Dr Marvin Monroe offers this explanation: "After extensive biological and anatomical testing, I regret to announce that the evidence we have is... inconclusive. This thing may or may not be human."
Ok, maybe I should not have called GPL obnoxious because it's a purely personal opinion. I just have hard time accepting the fact that I am actually supporting the FSF/GPL camp (which I thoroughly detest ideologically) in this matter. SCO's behaviour is, however, such a disgrace to the propriatery software industry that it cannot be overlooked.
This, of course, assumes that you live in a country where you can get a gun in the first place. Most advanced nations in the world do not fall into this category - fortunately.
The only thing worse than reading a stapled bunch of laser print paper is trying to read a book on a 96 dpi screen. Hello, people! Reading a book with great, aesthetically pleasing professional typeset and even the feel of a quality print book is an experience in itself.
But then again, there are hordes of people who think that a great movie experience means: downloading a 1200 MB ripped movie and watching the compressed video/audio stream full of artifacts on a shitty 17" monitor and low-end stereo speakers. Maybe, if you're a really 3133t, you'll even buy a "subwoofer".
Also, why is Cisco's site the SLOWEST site on the internet?!?!
Because they are the most popular company of network professionals. I mean if even they cannot keep up with the traffic, they must be making a killing. Only in America!
Ah. So, it's so FUCKING obvious that if you are a newbie you should run a program to convert a texinfo file into a human readable format or ready for printing?
I fully agree with the parent poster. Navigating info-files is a goddamn nightmare (two different sets of commands for moving back and forth? wtf?!), searching them - well, I still don't know how to do that efficiently - and in general getting anything useful out of them is just hopeless.
I really, truly, out-of-my-heart wish that info will die a horrible death.

I'd like the variation: "When IBM's lawyers let loose".
What differentiates Gnome from KDE except some sort of fuzzy ideology?
A prime example of how the Open Source community wastes resources by re-inventing the wheel again and again and again.
Well, of course someone who has already been brought to justice must be presumed guilty. I mean what's the point in bringing in innocent people?

I just want to add that if you're a spammer reading this: I'LL KICK YOUR ASS IF I EVER MEET YOU!
I'd be happy to.

It's harrasment.
Ever heard of smaller roads or does your country's road network consist only of 8-lane highways?
Nonsense. That's an urban legend.

2) No more getting stuck in a traffic jam, breathing the fumes and sweating your ass off.

No it wasn't.
You're thinking of the episode "Lisa the Skeptic" (ep. 908 5F05, original airdate: 11/23/97).
I for one welcome our new ape masters.

Stop whining.
If Linux is to survive, it is imperative that its license, the obnoxious GPL, is tested in court.

And will get you a free luggage/body search every time you fly international.
Haha! Excellent.

How hard would it be to use HTML instead?!
