  1. sounds fun on NASA Flies First Laser-powered Aircraft · · Score: 0

    While it sounds like a fun idea, how big would the laser have to be to power a full size airplane? And why dont they put solar panels on top of the plane to take advantage of the sun. I however see how this could have application in space travel and satelite technology.

  2. Research should be extended on Multiple Monitors Increase Productivity · · Score: 0

    While I think that this is great research and the fact that having more desktop space is incredibly useful, i think they stopped short of fully finding the potential related to computer monitors. They should have researched productivity related to LCD vs CRT monitors and the obvious advantages of reclaiming desk sapace. If they can put numbers to that, they make companies more likely to make the switch. Also how about incororating TV tuner cards and other video related products. While we know it is useful, the more corporations see that having a TV tuner card installed into a computer instead of having a bunch of TVs could save them money, the more we will see the use of multiple display set-ups

  3. Re:can you say 'monopoly?' on Microsoft Wins Browser War, Abandons 'Innovation' · · Score: 0

    Of course they have a monopoly, and now that they have no incentive to make the browser competitive, they less likely to improve, or fix such problems. In theory IE is a free software that one can use for their computer, so there is no financial advantage of them updating it.

    Its always been one of Apples biggest downfalls is the lack of products available on their platform. They have by far superior hardware, but that just doesnt fancy many people except those often in a graphical field. There OS is also very innovative, and has less security problems (primarily since no one cares to try to hack a mac) Oh well waiting for the mac attack and the day where windows falls... (i think i will be waiting a long time)

  5. Re:Thank God on 9th Circuit Overturns FCC's Cable Modem Decision · · Score: 1

    Same applies in my town, they being comcast have contract/monopoly for the town. There no room for competition, nor would the town allow it. However Comcast has had many poor stories circulating about its service around. The problem is that even if hypothetically the town allowed another cable company in, they still have to rent room off the telephone poles. Besides wasnt the 9th district court the same one the ruled the pledge of allegence was unconstitutional?

  6. Re:$2-$6 a game!? on Arcade ROMs for Download, Legally · · Score: 1

    How about selling old video games as well. There are many classic computer games that have gone to the way side because of companies not still marketing them. Selling them also for real cheap would be cool as well. Or you can just search and find them online. for free.

    Just wait till you have to register for the service, and a bill is passed that all your records are accessible for the governement, or better yet Baltimore sells info about your surfing habbits to a 3rd party. But i still think it is cool though.

    And even with CTRL-ALT-DEL the hard reset button gets used often. We should just reprogram the windows key on the keyboard to serve the same function. if (Windows_Key=1) { Microsoft_Sucks++; }
