You know, you got modded as flamebait, and I'll probably get modded down for saying this, but I have to agree. What is with everyone and just blindly using a network controlled by a company you hate? I, at least, have morals. I wouldn't use AIM any more than I'd buy a bunch of Microsoft products.
I use Debian GNU/Linux and Jabber. Ok, I'm an extremist. But don't you think that using AIM is just a *little* bit hypocritical?
I guess I'll just accept my modding down from the grumpy AIM users who won't accept the truth about AIM's owners.
"Precisely. Didn't you get your Slashdot rules of conduct? This is a "blue" site."
Of course this is a blue site. Why, you ask? Simple. The majority of people who read Slashdot are those also frequently considered "nerds" - the ones who are good with computers. The ones who, for the most part, are quite intelligent (if not a little bit like sheep sometimes). This intelligence is used to see through the veil of lies that the American people are being covered with by Dubya.
Now, the real decision... to log in, or to post anonymously.
RTFA you moron. It shares movies, mp3s, software, etc etc. It doesn't make it any more likely for the user to install viruses because anyone running untrusted.exe files is going to run them whether they came from BitTorrent or they came through HTTP. People who do that are stupid.
Good for Google!
As far as I'm concerned, ads for guns are like ads for marijuana or alcohol. They shouldn't be allowed. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for people being able to legally buy all of the above mentioned, but I don't think they should be advertised.
Me. I also use "thus" and "therefor" on a regular basis. My speech is mixed with Middle English, and it gets more and more pronounced depending on who I'm talking with (namely, their intelligence). I read too much, perhaps, but there is certainly nothing wrong with speaking in such a fashion.
Why has noone mentioned OpenBSD?
I mean, yes, they have had *one* hole in eight years, which was *very* quickly patched. I'd say that at least deserves a mention here.
I'm running Mozilla 1.3 on Redhat Linux 8.0 under KDE. I accessed the site with no difficulties, and have had no problems as described by other users, ever. Mozilla handles my bookmarks, profiles, and other such preferences flawlessly.
My sentiments exactly.

I've never met a single AIM user, and I'm from Canada.
Yeah, noone ever makes puns off of Slashdot. Nor do they ever spell things wrong.
Oh, wait...

Now that I think about it, so are you.
"Instead of actually killing people we could simulate wars and just abide by the results."
Why would we want the Koreans to rule the world?

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/lmuse/muse-0.7. 0.tar.bz2?download .tar.bz2 - good enough?

Did you just call Powell God? Seriously? Well then, yes, you are a zealot.

Get Linux.
Stop being an idiot and picking away at semantics. You know damn well what he meant and that he is right. You just can't stand to be proven wrong.
And a copy of CrossOver Office is under half the price of a copy of Windows. It will run both Word and Photoshop, if you are so concerned about that.
Actually, I'd be more along the lines of laughing and saying "Screw you, you brought this upon yourself by not listening to me."
