I know most/.ers don't RTFA, but not even reading the OP.....wow. Sorry, thats probably uncalled for. Anyways, it is being "spread" by people downloading it from alternative app marketplaces.
Get real you AC. The real world is a lot more complex than the "utopia" you seem to be in. I was just stating the fact that the choice to use a particular OS is usually dictated by the requirements of the application for a needed system.
Windows is such crapware, as so many of you think, why don't you guys all get together and write an emergency management system that runs on a Linux distro? Now I obviously don't know for sure, but it seems likely the reason they are using Windows is that their application is written that way. Take a way the need to use Windows before bitching and moaning about them using Windows.
Have you considered that they may already have a rather large install of ActiveDirectory/Exchange and are basically just wanting to upgrade? Being that the the RFQ wasn't actually linked its kinda difficult to know what it exactly contained.
There are a lot of consulting firms out there that provide MS only solutions, which is what the DOI is asking for, not that MS being the implementors of said solution.
I'm not so sure. I work for a K12 with a couple thousand clients, and this makes me nervous. I really hope I can disable the App Store with an MCX setting so teachers/students aren't buying all sorts of crap and installing it the districts computers.
The neat part, as stated in the article, was the fact that they were dectected a ways out and not last minute, like most of the rest that have gone whizzing by.
There is a big difference between the two. One was done in a legal action as NATO, the other has questionable legality since the documents that he published were classified.
Actually I was referring to drops in temp.
We always seem to say that about new technologys, oh it will last forever and have no effect. Then we learn much latter that it was a mistake......
Neat map and all but I wonder what would the effects would be of us sapping all this heat energy out of the crust of the planet do to tempatures?
I find it rather funny that www.facebook.com has face in part of the address.
But they do have a dominance in the mobile device market. I bet the DoJ is keeping a close eye on Apples behavior.
That and the idea of buying a new player right now with most people pinching their pennies in this down economy.
I like hammers, no melting point required.
bought himself a pretty high-classed hooker. Not sure for how long though......

One of the last few lines in "Thank you for smoking". We are improving history.
Agreed. Considering the previous /. article http://tech.slashdot.org/story/10/11/01/1942259/Google-Sues-US-Govt-For-Only-Considering-Microsoft explains that they were only considering MS solutions, not MS as the implementor of said solutions. Google just needs to stop crying when it loses and says MS is evil.
Yes, but it does have a user replaceable liver.

While I am too lazy to go find proof, pretty sure those motors actually filtered down from the Corvette.

Copland! Thats the one I was thinking of....thanks for refreshing my ancient memory.
Ok, sorry overshot the time. Could have sworn it was longer from how it felt at the time.
Yeah and how long did that take to make the switch from System 8/9? Nearly a decade?
Good point. But that kid that leaked the documents to Assange has his ass in the wringer.

No I think he means that if some bit of intel is figured out that leads to the deaths of NATO forces in Afghanistan.
