What kinda tube? I don't have any of the math skills required to calculate the amount of water weight on the tube at two miles deep, but I bet its more than any man-made material can with stand. And I think 30 feet is a bit on the narrow side.
Well being that the TNG cast won't(well probably won't and I think the same can be said for DS9 and Voyager) do another flick it stands to reason the easiest way is to go back for more prequels. Even though its a rather convient plot device, time travel can add lots of story lines that are too difficult to work out with a very linear time frame.
You are assuming the land is $500 million, which its not. The entire project is costing $500 million. The land is probably more like $1200 an acre and sorry to lazy to figure that out into sq feet.
Idiot may be a bit strong, I just think his research is very flawed. My case in point is the use of THX sound. Unless you are willing to spend a fuckton of cash on having a THX certified sound engineer come out to plan your home theater's sound system, then spend the next few months building and sound proofing and setting up the proper treatments to reflect and deaden the sound waves, don't even both wasting the extra cash on THX capable reciever. But since this is a reference theater built on a budget, save yourself the grand or two stay way from the THX recievers. They chose the Denon 4802, I have the 3806 great system and setup is a breeze using its own program to "adjust" itself to your room.
I do like their choice of the Sony projector. I spent a few months researching the projector I was going to purchase for my HT, most of it reading avsforums.com. I chose the VPL-VW100, the VPL-VW50 wasn't out yet or else I would have probably bought that, it was simply the best projector that does 1080p under 10K. Again, if you can spend a fuckton of cash there are a lot of more expensive projectors out there in the 25k range that will blow this one out of the water.
But if you think what you are installing is legit software, most of the "stupid/gulible" users out there are going to type in the admin password. Social engineering is just as important as the trojan itself.
Ummm, I disagree. Troy was presented with a gift, so they thought, and then dragged it into the city. Then when the people of Troy got bored with it, and left it in the middle of the city, probably saying something along the lines of "ehhh lets trash it tomorrow", and went to bed for the night. Little did they know of the nasty little bits inside that would come out at a predetermined time that would royally fuck them up, big time.
you forgot NT 4.0 and Win 2000(aka Win 5.0). Oh and XP is 5.1 and Vista is Windows 6. The only real odd balls are 95/98/ME, which are probably considered by MS to be early versions of 2000.
Nor does yours....if a car company cleary states that you are to only use gas from shell(for whatever reason) and if you buy are car from them you are obligated to use shell gas. You can use any gas you want, but if something were to happen down the line....its not our problem.
Go ahead and buy your car from NonExistentCarCompany. Then go buy a cpu upgrade to up the cars performance, burn out the piston rings and crack a cylinder head the go back to the dealer of the NonExistentCarCompany and ask them to fix it. They will look at your cpu upgrade and go, sorry this isn't under warranty you have to pay for it.
use a product, any product, outside of the way it was designed and marketed to sell at your OWN risk and we the company are not liable. I do believe this is pretty much standard language of any warranty on any product being sold today.
Through out history cities have been destroyed. Sometimes new ones get built on top of the old ones. But most of the time when cities are destroyed by floods, the city is rebuilt in an area not in a low land area suceptible to flooding. No matter how good the levee system will be, there will always be a storm to cause it to fail and then its back to square one. The only smart thing to do is move the city up the Mississippi to high/more stable ground. Mother nature can't be stopped, you can only try to contain it.
Or maybe End of days? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/End_times#Maya

Being in Minnesota, I am used to cold weather, but -104F! I wouldn't go out in that with clothes on, let alone naked.
Obviously you didn't get the joke/reference to a very popular Slashdot subject.
ahhhh yes, thanks for the memories....ewwwww!
I would never leave home without it.
now there is an idea......
It won't be them opening the gmail accounts, but one of their assistants who reads their email and prints it out for them to read.

I need it. Bring it closer so I might join with it.
we wish to cecede from the planet.....? Actually that doesn't sounds like to bad of an idea as messed up as it is.
I think some one has way to much time on their hands.
Yup, i jumped ahead too much to your reference about land..my bad.

So that would be approximately 1.6 A-Rods. Not bad at all.

Sound kinda familiar doesn't it?

sorry that my overly simplfied analogy has holes in it...sheesh!

I wasn't saying it way easy. Do you think it was easy for any of the other cities?

This was done on MythBusters. Sorry can't recall if it was busted or not.
