How about all the users of bittorent downloading linux distro's and public domain movies convince all the users of bittorrent that download pirated movies/mp3s ripped from CDs/cracked software/etc to stop doing so...then comcasts crap-tastic network wouldn't be saturated with bittorrent traffic and they wouldn't be trying to stop bittorrent at all.
Yeah, not very realistic. Too bad a fuck-ton of rotten eggs are out there ruining it for the rest that want to use the software to download legal software.
I disagree. Seeing a half a dozen of these things rolling down the street would give me the willies. I just hope their components are covered with lots of armour.
Snipers are in relative safety, and the need to replace a human sniper with a robot is a bit of overkill. I do think snipers can get a lot of help though from technology items that can gauge distance and wind conditions accurately.
What kinda flawed thinking is that? If you are going to have a holier than thou attitude, you better be holier than thou. If you are going to do the same bullshit all the major corps do, then you are a hypocrite and in my opinion just as bad, if not worse, than a "evil" company.
If you want to change the system, start with yourself and get others to follow your lead. You don't change the system by taking advantage of its flaws, you become apart of it.
Check out "The Island" there is a scene with Sean Bean and Ewen McGregor using a multi-touch multi-user desktop, although Beans character is using a wireless "mouse"(looks like a mini-pyramid). But McGregor uses a pen like device to draw a boat. I thought it was cool....
Any person that is a pro graphic artist more than likely isn't going to be using a tiny screened laptop to do their work. Odds are they will have a one huge display, 24" or greater, and a palette display, 17", and a desktop machine with more RAM than any laptop could handle. While this is probably nit picking at its best, I can sort of see their point of view.
People also tend to forget that it take just one student to see one other student viewing "inappropriate" content to start a huge shit storm that can have very adverse affects for the entire district. No school district wants to be sued cuz little Suzy saw little Billy surfing porn sites and became upset at what she saw goes home and tells mommy and daddy, who just happen to be a little conservative, and proceed to flip out and start suing for "emotional distress" caused by the accidental viewal of inappropriate material. School districts are under a constant microscope and there is no leway given to us by parents.
I am not saying 3 months suspension is appropriate, but not punishing a kid for the violations...really doesn't make sense to have the rules in the first place.
By the way I work for a school district and I personally have given the administration the proof to send a few students home for violating our AUP for many different reasons.
how this articles contents about Apple/iPhone comprises about 20% of it and that almost everyone ignores the rest of it just because Ballmer bashes the iPhone. Everyone get ready for the MS bashing bandwagon, it should be pulling up very soon.
Sure it will, and you don't need a $5000 BES to do it. Just Exchange SP2 and a WM5 device with the latest AKU....

Sorry, but did you read the article. Sen. Stevens from Alaska introduced the bill, in other words he is its biggest backer and I am sure there are others that will ride it to make them seem like strong supports of protecting children from that nasty internet thing all the while their teenage page is blowing them under their desk back in their offices.
Con is to Pro as Congress is to Progress.
Yeah i thought that some people will only want an iPod, but I bet a lot of them will re-evaluate their options if the two are even remotely the same cost, which was my point. I can see people still buying the smaller iPods for $200 for the to bulky to use an iPhone situation. IMHO, either the iPod becomes second fiddle and eventually dies off or the iPhone fails miserably and dies a horrible death. Having two devices with similar capabilities and costs is bad planning and a nightmare for marketing.
Is it just me? Apple makes this hugely antcipated announcement for the iPhone that has more bells and whistles than any other phone, now you are going to keep the iPod on the cutting edge? My guess is that the iPod won't really evolve much until the technology gets cheaper. Why spend $500 on an iPhone, then turn around and spend another $500 on an iPod that has the same capabilities as a player? Sorry, but I will stick with my smartphone and my iPod Nano which costs about the same as an iPhone.
All they are saying is that we don't want to support running VMs on our most basic OS.
Specifically trying to forbid it in the EULA goes well beyond not supporting it. Why would you approve in a EULA and not support?
As for running VM's, do you think there are home users, aka mom and dad that can barely can tell the difference between OSX and Vista, that really want to run Vista Home in a VM?
Probably not. They probably don't need to run a web server or compiler either, should those also be prohibited? I can see mom or pop running an internal webserver for a picture gallery or something of that nature. But either way if they purchase the proper software for what they want to do and use it according to the EULA, go nuts.

Yeah maybe 15 years ago when they still played videos.
But just imagine what VHS tapes will look like...
Its funny that you compare this to a MS product that hasn't been around in atleast 5 years and was orginally developed over 10 years ago.
GO APPLETALK!
No, he will just show up with a band-aid on his forehead.

HAHAHAHAHA! Sorry, but that is a great redo of the Lizzie Borden(wikipedia) rhyme.
Proof of concept.
Very true. But that doesn't mean you have to abuse its flaws. I originally intended that, but didn't convey it so well.

Atleast you won't see Jeff Goldblum hacking the Borg with a PowerBook running System 7.
Well I was being a bit more general since ActiveSync uses HTTPS as its transport method, and with out OWA activesync won't work.
Sorry some clarification, Exchange 2003 with SP2....

Good point, but I like the customers getting feed up and leaving the company for some other product. Would hurt the bottom line way more than a fine.

And from the sounds of things, doing so violates the EULA of OSX. Just because you can do something doesn't me you should.
