Eh, Infiltration took the realism stuff too far and ended up being just too slow and lame. I think what makes CS and Urban Terror and such do well is the "Hollywood Realism" they have. Sure you can't just run and gun in real life, but it's more fun to have things play that way for a lot of people.
I don't do it as much with hardware anymore, but I do love getting stuff that is still totally kickass and usable just because the "Next Gen" superceded it. Like how the newer 333MHz XPs pushed down the price of the older ones which are faster but have less cache. And a few benchmarks I saw had the older ones coming out on top!
Man, I have two words for people who don't understand Silent Hill:
Zombie Babies!
That was one game that really gave an inspiring "Jesus God, Get me the hell out of here I'm gonna die!" feeling to me. Immediately after playing the first one I was walking around an almost empty underground tunnel in the NYC subway and my wheeled luggage started making a noise JUST LIKE that damn radio in the game.
PC port good. I have the PC Silent Hill 2 and it looks sweet thanks to all the high-end parts I shell out for...
I want to play a few of the Xbox games and have hope for Xbox live. I love my PS2 and Gamecube, but you always can have more.
I mean it's not like I didn't buy everything else (games not included in picture).
But than again maybe not, I still buy games at the rate I used to when I was single and had less of a life, but I don't play them at anywhere near the same rate now...
The problem is that Dee-lite was a Retro Rip-off band. They were a good one, and did it well, but they were trying to recreate a pre-existing look. So it's not her look. She's already borrowing it, so how can she own it?
The problem is Ulala looks like a lot of cute generic pop-rock girls (and Japan has a hell of a lot of those). If someone makes a game with a character who wears the same polo shirt and khakis that I wear at work can I sue them? Probably not unless it is clearly supposed to be a likeness of me.
Since when is economic freedom the main point of the Left? Not saying that the Fingerlickans are pushing for it like they are supposed to be, but still...
First of all, Taiwan is also populated by Chinese, and they have grown out of an opressive military regime into a fairly well functioning democracy. You should watch your potentially racist rhetoric there. It sounds like you are saying that Chinese people are naturally against the idea of freedom. "Westerners" lived under opressive monarchical and post-monarchical systems for a long time, and it was a Westerner who created "Fascism."
Second, anyone who decides to make blanket statements about Republicans (such as "no Republican is a member of the ACLU") as a whole is as useless as those say things about "the Democrats." If you just vote for one party because you can't concieve of the other party having anything useful to add, it might mean you only have one good party, more likely it means you are closed-minded. People who believe and vote the party line without looking at the issues are harmful to the essential concept of Democracy.
"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
Maybe I missed this one but I'm surprised noone has posted it yet. Our founding fathers had a fairly dim view of a central government's ability to use its power properly.
Wow I didn't even THINK of Trek until you said that...
How sad that a Greek mytholigical reference has been so utterly overtaken by pop culture. Next thing you know people will only assume Genesis refers to the band...
What happened to this? It was supposed to be out by now but they haven't updated the website in eternity. It would have had laptop and desktop enclosures to solve the actual typing problem when you needed to use it as a full-on PC, and was just generally loaded with good features. But since I don't seem to be able to buy one, what's the point
Oh yeah...*cough* keys on this Vulcan thing to small!
Ummm...That thing is pretty big...
I guess it would prevent you from having to switch from the gamepad to the keyboard in your lap, but wouldn't it be a bit odd to have your arms like that while playing a game?
Oh that's so easy. Noone liked my idea so it's obviously racism.
People have been finding alternate solutions for Asian inputs for a long time, I'm sure if a 4,000 character keyboard was a good idea someone would have tried to sell it. I have to type in Pinyin and pick my characters from a list, but it really isn't that slow. Most of the Taiwanese computers I have seen use Zhuyin Fuhao (another phonetic system). 4000 keys would be impossible to look through and work for.
Other than one or two people, noone was mean to you. Just because people disagree with you doesn't make them racists.
I believe the fellow who invented the mouse also had a matching one handed keyboard that never caught on.
Also lets not forget the game oriented sort of keyboard devices like the Nostromo, and the claw. And I'm suprised noone mentioned things like the DVORAK and split-maltron keyboards and such that are designed to speed up touch typing rather than slow it down (turns out the gains are really offset by the amount of time it would take to have everyone relearn touch typing).
Since when is "whining" only dependant on of the tone of your voice? If you are complaining in a bitter and obnoxious manner, that's whining. And it's what the PhoenixSQL group is doing.
They have a legitimate complaint, but so far they have acted with total lack of professionalism, so I don't feel too sympathetic.
I have never had much respect for Searle. He often says things to the effect of: "Sure a computer can simulate a fire, but noone believes the fire will burn us" Well a computer can simulate a calculator and that works fine. It's not just as simple as "The computer is a calculator," but rather it has a software decsription to do what any good calculator does. Many of his assumptions are that the brain works in some special wasy, but he never states specifically what it is about the brain that cannot be duplicated.
He also often talks about systems, breaking them into pieces and saying that in no single piece can we find the source of intelligence, yet if we tore the brain to pieces and neurons or such, we would also be loath to find "intelligence" in most of those small units.
In short, I don't understand why Philosophy types constantly conjecture on the nature of things that are so influenced by biology and information theory when there are experts who have a better idea how these processes actually work
I think Turing (and Descartes) are trying to say that for lack of being able to know how "intelligence" works, we must just assume that anything that has the full apearance of intelligence as far as we can test must be assumed to be intelligent.

When I saw "Vowed appeal" I was expecting to see "Vowed REVENGE!"
Seriously, NBA, NFL, etc. make people pay for likeness rights, but we have plenty of good games with full likenesses.
It is only fair to pay for use of someone's likeness unless the work is a reasonable parody.
This is espescially true if the work is a reasonable parody of Strawberry shotcake and American McGee.

What about the OQO?

I read through most of it in about ten minutes and I was one of the earlier posts (it was posted shotly after 9).
Maybe you should think about what you type before you render yourself null and void.

Salamander wins in my book.
I loved that game...

Wow, so the anti-turing test is basically l33t.
"3y3 R h4XX0rZ U HAHAHAHAAHA LOL!"
All you would need to run the test would be a 12 your old who just drank 5 bottles of Mountain Dew.
