Thats 3 girls (and a guy with a skirt). I counted two at the first time. But there is one partly hidden right in the middle of the picture. Three persons up the lady in the front, and one person to the right.
I mean, GUI development needs more women. You know its very difficult to find a man that has UI and aestetics capabilities (at least a straight one). If we want more friendly to use GUIs, we need women! Pronto!
Go anywhere where you can see some statistics about Linux distros, and you'll see that red hat, mandrake, debian, gentoo and knoppix are more used than crappy closed SUSE. They should grow up!
Right now, when Linux needs to unite more than ever because of the FUD SCO is releasing, here comes this guy saying stuff like that. Maybe he should go read the cathedral and the bazaar.
This is a fine study, and I really enjoyed it. But I would like to see something similar that also included Gnome and OS X. I believe both are more user friendly than KDE. Just a tought.
Actually, I believe this study to be important. I am a Linux user for 3 years now, and I find it to be very user friendly.
But most companies are scared to change OS, because then all the people would have a big trouble getting to know the new programs.
what I believe this study shows is: "Enterprises, dont be worried about changing to Linux. It is user-friendly, and it will not have a huge impact on your productivity, because most people will be able to use it after one week."
Its nice to know that the market is evolving in the sense that new and better plataforms are being supported by commercial companies. In the last year we have seen a lot of companies finally releasing software for Linux. I expect this trend to grow a lot in the future. that will help innovation in the computer world.
Actually, most people use KDE. I use GNOME. he biggest diference is that KDE is more customizable and heavier (bloated), while Gnome is lighter and more user friendly. Well, this is my opinion, of course.
I just hope Novell does the same thing, now that they are planning on making a new Linux distribution. I hope noone buys SCO. I hope SCO will be crushed by IBM, Red Hat, Novell and other. I hope SCO disapears. I hope that the next generation of Linux users dont even know what SCO is.
I would like to had something more. If you have one big 4Gb card, you'll feel inclined to leave the photos there. Why copy them to my pc? plenty of room left...
So, if you loose a 4Gb card, you'll probably loose months worth of pictures... forever!
of course, those tools are 100% reliable, right? Well, lets suppose they are. What if it happens that the card is unrecovable? You loose 4Gb worth of photos...
The problem is also that people tend to leave their photos in the card if it is big enough. Now imagine you didnt put a copy of the photos in you harddrive because you had plenty of space in the card? You would loose it all.
If you use smaller cards, you'll feel the need to backup more frequently.
Experts say you should never use a card bigger than 512Kb. Why? Imagine loosing one card? You'll loose 2Gb of image information. If you use 4 cards of 512Kb, and you loose one, you will not be loosing that much info. Dont put all the eggs on the same basket.
If you really read the article, you'll see that they tested them without RAIS and with 128Mb Ram
Actually, you are right. There are two girls. The third one is two persons to the top of the front one, and one person to the left.
three girls, and a guy wearing a skirt. look better.
Thats 3 girls (and a guy with a skirt). I counted two at the first time. But there is one partly hidden right in the middle of the picture. Three persons up the lady in the front, and one person to the right.
And the one wearing the skirt is not a girl, or is it...

If you do that, you dont need a silent case :)

This is a major improvement for Linux. I know of many people who dont use Linux because of Photoshop.
I hope other companies do the same thing Disney did, with other poducts. It would bw a great boost to Linux on the desktop.

Actually, I had english classes. But most of my english is self taught. But I will not do that mistake again :)
I meant MB, not KB. I think this is the 3rd time I say this
thanks for the insight. I am portuguese, so, my english is not that good. Allways learning...
I meant to say 512 MB, not KB.

Well, I'm portuguese. Its normal for me to make mistakes in english. So what? But thanks for poiniting that to me anyway.
sorry, I meant to say MB, not KB
Loosing a card does not imply loosing it fisically. Imagine it gets corrupt...
