A good lawyer would argue that all that proves is that your phone was there, not that you were. And, as the prosecution wouldn't need to use this if they had a witness to your presence, that in itself might be enough for reasonable doubt. Of course, IANAL, and could easily be wrong.

That means that all of my healthcare that's related to my conditions is free for life, and because of my low income, so's the rest. Of course, unlike most people who want or expect free healthcare, I actually did something to earn it. However, for all of those precious snowflakes who only want to know what their country will do for them, I agree with you.

I use Linux with Xfce and Compiz. It's not uncommon for me to open a terminal, set it to Always On Top and compare what I see there with what's on a web page. The browser has the focus, I can scroll up and down and even fill out a form, or make a comment, such as here, with the terminal still covering part of the browser. If you can't do that, there's something wrong with your window manager.

Yes, I suppose that I could join, request that my data be removed then terminate my account, but I have no reason to think that they're going to delete anything that they had before I joined.

  10. Why is the public being asked whether it's good to take out a $4B loan?

Why? Because the state's Constitution requires all bond measures to be approved by the public. Would you really rather that the California Legislature be allowed to sell bonds and mortgage the state's future with no oversight? 16. Back in the old days, AT&T prided itself on 99.9% uptime, no matter what happened. If something made you lose your power and phone service at 2 AM on a Saturday night, the odds were that your phone service would be back up before you had power. This may not seem like much, but at least you could call friends and family and let them know you were OK, or ask them for anything you might need. I don't have service with the new ATT, but I'd be a bit surprised if they didn't have that kind of corporate culture any more. Every cable service that I've ever had to deal with has had 24/7 phone support, but if you need a tech to come out it's during normal business hours, and in one case, only on weekdays. That's one reason I've always stuck with ADSL; the other is that I don't do online gaming, I don't use their streaming services and I don't download multi-GB movies, so ADSL speeds are fine.

Thus, if this measure does get on the ballot, all of us who oppose it will need to get out the vote and vote against it. And, even if it passes, it will still need to be approved by Congress.
