true, but it hes definitly improved in it's unresponsive, crash prone, and resource hungry ways. still, put a few torrents to work and you need a second pc. i figure its bittorrent in general. haven't tried uTorrent yet though.
When I was at uni we were given a list of recommended books and it was our choice whether we purachsed them or not. Although some of the books were neccessary, there were always several copies available in the library.
More often than not I chose to go without the recommended book, instead utilising web resources.
I went into EB for the first time in ages the other day and tried to order Tails of Phantasia. It wasn't in the system. None of the sales people had ever heard of it.
I agree, and i do go to the cinemas a fair bit, but in reality i only go see movies i haven't got the divx rip of yet. Perhaps the movie houses need to work on faster, more secure distribution systems now.
I'm australian btw, we can get rips months before lots of films actually come out in the cinemas.. but i suppose in the US you can get the rip the day after it comes out so that might not be such a big deal.
Thats funny coz it was my understanding that when us aussies were almost invaded by the japanese, the american government asked us to leave our troops where they were and let australia fall (to be liberated later of course). Our PM at the time said get fucked and brought the troops home.
If theres any history buffs out there i'd love to know if this is true...
1. run cool edit 2000 or similar software. 2. put cd in drive. 3. press record in cool edit. 4. play cd. 5. go make dinner 6. spend half an hour breaking up the recording. 7. encode as mp3 and enjoy.
annoying, but i've had to do this a few times now. damned if im fiddling around with cd's when i want to hear some music.
In the worse case the cd won't play in the cd-rom drive; then you run a hifi cable from an approved listening device to the computer and follow the same procedure.
These dumbasses should stop wasting their precious profits on this stupid tech R&D.
Or of looking at a lot of coloured dots on a piece of paper which suddenly resolve themselves into the figure six and mean that your optician is going to charge you a lot of money for a new pair of glasses.
(i was re-reading it last night.. how improbable.)
I saw Anthology and Chronicles at a friends house, what a joke. I didn't buy them, although I will get them if they ever come out on the GBA. And then I won't feel so bad about the FF ROMs I've been playing for the past seven years or so.
But how annoying were the load times in FF7, FF8 and FF9.. great games, but the loadtimes pushed the length of the games out 4 or 5 hours I would think.
Not really. More precisely it drowns out the signals in your brain that say "hrm i'm thirsty" or "hm i just drunk 4 litres of water" with ones that go "WHEEEEEEEEE!!!!!".
You can control these feelings though. I used to take the stuff all the time and i never died, though i have felt a little drug-burnt at times (think sunburnt - overheating)
It is important to have someone who knows what they are doing with you the first few times you try the stuff. Let them save you when you get stunned by a cars headlights while trying to cross the road.
Actually I believe LSD was used briefly in controlled therapy sessions in the 60's and showed potential benefits with regards to altering behavioural patterns, but then the government put a clamp on it in 1967 and no research has been done since. except by bored teenagers and the like.
Check out Acid Dreams if you're interested, its a good read. I found it down at my local library.
Yeah they did due to the 'kill the hooker' thing. Then it came back on show around a month later, apparently they patched out that mission. I'm not really sure hwat they changed though.
I haven't played the mobile version of Monkey Ball, but it sounds like the control style is the same as the GameCube version. Maybe it just makes more sense with an analog stick.
man... slashdot is so cool.. where else can you go for this stuff? (apart from uni labs... no fun there...)
Damn you're right. I apologise.

i would love to see how long you'd last when the bandwidth is burning a hole in your pocket.
I upgraded to 2.0.2 this morning... very impressive. after an initial load of around 5 seconds, all docs are now opening (nearly) instantly.
Try 2.0.2, I couldn't find it in the release notes, but they make the thing faster.

So yeah, that would suck.
If you love money, you missed the point of money.

This could be why the Gamecube is failing is Oz.
-1 Redundant. sorry.
you can get it at bottleshops and petrol stations in australia. what good would an esky be without ice? all the beer would be warm...

i would say when we get some military hardware that is less than 40 years old. maybe.

Because life would be pretty boring up there without an EVA now and again.

I too pray for a return to solid state storage.

he, i didn't know that, i'll check that out.
Whilst i would love to have a copy of Chrono Trigger and FFIII/VI on the GBA, hows about we start seeing some true sequels to these old classics, hrm?
Or perhaps even a completely new series...
(Go Advance Wars!)

Neither is games.slashdot. Diversification is the key.
