    Those odd, half-finished parts are what I was calling ugly. And it doesn't remind me at all of DCL. I have a few classes there next semester, so i'm going to have to learn to like it.

    The building looks like it was designed by a bunch of computer scientists. Ugly as hell, shiny things everywhere.

    You mean like this? Ipod on linux is software for running linux on your ipod. There is plenty of software to use an ipod with linux.

    Correction: VNC does not transmit passwords in cleartext. it uses a challenge-response system, although all actual data is sent in the clear.

    Until Microsoft changes their ways on having every useless network service turned on by defualt and making it easy (read: not requireing use of Regedit) to turn off and on services (read: Sharing System Preference Panel - checkboxes for all services)
    Control panel -> Administrative Tools -> services. easy as pie. That's not to say that the average windows user has a clue what a service is, let alone how to turn it off. The problem is that unnecessary services are on by default. But, hey, it's the age old compromise; out of the box simplicity vs. configurability.
