I'll be purchasing one of these as soon as they become available. I pondered the building my own thing and the thing is, I don't need to dedicate another machine to this. I can set this up as an appliance and not worry about it. It's always there and running.
Price is on the high side, but you pay a premium when you buy anything that just comes out.
I actually was taught that leaving a manual transmission car in gear while parked could cause damage if someone happened to bump your car while parking causing it to lurch forward.
That said, I still use the parking brake along with putting my car into gear when parking, but I try to stay away from parking on the city streets.
You probably used the default Dell install on some of your images instead of rebuilding them from the ground up.
I bet that your coworkers must love you when they have to hunt the specific key that Dell uses instead of the Volume License key that you were supposed to use.
I just picked up 5 Dell Servers to replace my aging home server farm.
These machines go for $300 (after rebates) and have a 2.4Ghz P4 with a 40MB harddrive and 128MB RAM. Best of all the only use 250W power supplies so you won't need dedicated wiring.
Toss in a 100GB or 200GB drive sprinkle in some RAM and your looking at a machine worthy of any small business setup that can handle anything you throw at it.
