Being the sovereign importer is the least of their problems. The main issue is the US controls *àll* the world's sea lanes thanks to the US Navy so if they do a naval blockade. Well... let's say its not pretty.
Well its a mixed bag really. It is a lot more verbose than other recent languages. The type system is inane. The main advantage is you have binary portability across platforms and a really huge standard API to use.
You need to read more. The French President said he granted Morales permission but it was only after the facts became public. They apologized for the 'delay' in granting permission. As for the Spanish they said they had granted permission to land after he had landed in Austria and mentioned they had 'concerns' that Snowden could be on board.
It sounds great to me. MWs of beamed energy. They only need to make a collector site with reasonable efficiency and they will have a neat power transmission system.
I guess you never heard of the Chinese Warring States period. They also had conscription but were ruled by Kings and it all happened several hundred years BC.
Conscription is hardly new. Just because there was a period where so called professional armies dominated in European history it does not mean it had always been that way.
Government bureaucrats funded nuclear power, jet engines, highways, water supplies, airports, etc.
Did you know one of the most commonly used airliner engines in the world, the CFM56 engine, is directly based on the F101 engine of the B-1 Lancer USAF bomber?
Why do you think companies go to the stock market in the first place? It is a way to raise capital that goes directly into the companies coffers. If your stock goes up enough you can issue more shares, which will dilute the value of the previously issued shares, but will raise a lot of extra capital. If your shares are worth squat you cannot raise any capital that way.
So the Xperia Z is not high end for you but the iPhone 5 is?. Pathetic. Perhaps you are waiting for a fancy new smartwatch from Apple? Yeah they are really innovative.
Apple has an ads platform as well. I guess you never heard of iAds. As for Apple they use indentured servants from China to manufacturing their iPhone at Foxconn. At least South Korea is a democratic regime.
Apple has been losing market share for quite some time now. Q1 sales results. That their sales have now stalled while the market keeps growing is revealing enough.
Google has no clue when it comes to design, usability and customer needs assessment vs " fill it with geek features the average person won't use."
Bullshit. Google has some of the best usability experts in the market second only to Apple's. They have a lot of people dedicated to this specific task. But sure keep deluding yourself.
Apple sold more phones but their profits dropped. That tells me their margins are shrinking. They are going to shrink more once they release their low end phone model.
Maybe in bizarro land. Apples only competitor is Samsung. The rest of Android phones replace the feature phones of old.
What a load of bull. Samsung, HTC, Sony, Motorola, and even LG have plenty of high end smartphone models.
There are low end vendors like ZTE, Huawei, Acer, etc. Apple also competes with those vendors by selling their old iPhone 4S which still remains in production. Allegedly they are making specific model to target the low end of the market as well. It would be interesting to redo this conversation in 3 years and see how great you think Tim Cook is then. People without vision focused on bean counting don't last long in the technology sector.
When the economy bounces back gold prices go down and platinum prices go up. Platinum was cheaper than gold contrary to what used to be usual. A correction had to come sooner or later. It usually takes 5-6 years to resolve a banking crisis. Guess when the banking crisis happened.
You know another thing that starving nations often do? They invade their neighbors to get food.

So who is going to run the charity after Gates dies?
By mere coincidence the countries which denied the landing were all NATO countries. Austria, where he did land, does not belong to NATO.

I'm looking forward to the Liquid Metal Iwatch.
I was looking forward to the Nokia Morph myself. Oh wait.

Yes because Good is Dumb. Or maybe not.
Well they did not declare bankruptcy prior to the merger, so you are correct, but their financial situation was dire.

I would rather have precious metals which require a supernova to manufacture than a set of bits.
Phase seven is going back to software again. i.e. the Wheel of Reincarnation.
Remember DSPs, memory, onboard in sound cards? LISP Machines? Ageia PhysX cards? etc, etc.

I assume the Google application they are talking about is something like Google Maps since Chrome seems to be using GTK+.
Ok so VirtualBox and VLC it is. VLC's interface is horrid but that is probably the developers fault. VirtualBox has a pretty good interface.
The rest seems to be mostly closed source applications. Some of which are in common use like Skype or the Google applications.
