These Chinese are already doing it (anti-sat missiles), and most likely the Russians have warheads parked in orbit as well. Rick, you're professing your ignorance on this topic. All that this administration did was clear the air and tell the truth and stop pussy footing around. Super Powers are dominating all domains of access because of a single universal truth of the human condition - humanity is governed by the aggressive use of force. That's not a statement for how it should be, rather reflecting on the reality for what it is.

Duh! Of course. It's the natural state of mankind. Anywhere you have consolidated power, the MO of those within that power is to ensure it's both maintained and limited to just themselves. That means authoritarianism and oppression. None of this is new, and in fact 100% to be expected. It's literally coded in our DNA.

Not if Islam rapes and pillages its way back to the dark ages in Europe and Africa. So while I agree with your assessment of the current pathological weaknesses of Western Culture, what you're in fact advocating for is jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire.

LOL, right, because only Democrat voters are allowed to destroy mob and destroy property. When Republican leaning votors stop it, it's "fascism".

Fascism is totalitarianism. In fact, fascism is fascism, while communism (Marxism / Leninism) is fascism too. A lot of people wrongly think that institutionalized communism (not to be confused with anarcho-communism) can't be a fascism, but they're wrong.

Fact is, these violent "liberal" are on the wrong side of history - just like the Nazis and Communists before them.

  12. I disagree. It's not about "tech". It's an organizational / human problem. Once orgs and corps cut corner on cost and reduce accountability, that's when security enforcement and implementation of newer standards and procedures lapses. Eventually, information leaks like a sieve and SHTF after the fact.

Essentially, just because security is good now doesn't it mean it will remain so. Likewise, a shitty network can be overhauled with proper funding and skills. Unfortunately, it's easier to regress than progress in security. Don't let it lapse

  13. Apple is designing their own CPU as a replacement for Intel/AMD for the OSX platform. I'd go so far as to say at some point OSX is a dead-end only to be superseded by a fork in iOS for desktop. My point is that it's trivial to find a head-hunter to nab an iOS game dev to code Metal for AutoDesk or some other professional product. Again, big enterprise software vendors will not suffer a financial dent paying a higher salary dev that can code Metal. The numbers are there to make the effort a net gain in profit.

Bitch and moan all you want about standards, but if the market can support 1000+ API standards, well, a 1000+ API standard we will have. How long they last is another argument entirely.

  14. There's a lot of game developers for Metal if they're coding for iOS. If anything, this makes it easier to code for OSX too, no?

Nothing is ideal, and everything is a trade off. You get better benefits and paid certification when working for a fortune 500. But, it's cold a ruthless environment; absolutely soulless.
