Seriously, ECC correction and redundancy is all that is needed. Even if quantum computers are blistering fast, if getting away with packing 100 individual clusters is available, it will be done. Then, they can all be checked against eachother. Majority rules in a democratic processing fasion.
Math is math. But its application of it is patentable. I don't have a problem with this. I DO have a problem when that patent shit like....the entire internet or something to that all encompassing event.
I mean a liberal college. For the most part, they are preach socialism and how everyone should be of equal value. Share and share alike regardless if you earned or worked hard for it....no..I will shut up now. You do EVEN want me to get started on a rant. Besides, it would be off topic.
This is common in late spring/early summer. Also, early fall as well. Just wait till July and August, your going to wish for nice thunderstorms to keep the area cool. Otherwise, Summer in Austin is that of a fucking desert. I hope you don't drive with black leather seats or you will burn your ass off.
Rail? Give me a break. I live off Parmer Ln and it wont do me jack. Also, you still have to drive to the rail system. And when you get to your destination, you will have to take a taxi, bus, or if your luck, walk not to far from the office.
On the other hand, I wish Austin would keep with "green" traditions and support bio-fuel. E85 would be a good start.
Interesting. Maybe they should replace all toys with the same kind, only brand new and out of the box. This is so there isn't a smell to them that he previously knows.
I suppose you could wash them. But just for the sake of science, I would replace them with the exact same kind.
Correct. I simply used diabetes as a reason for the use of needles. Hence, used needles *might* contain HIV should the diabetic be HIV positive. Hell, they could be a smack user for all I know. But if there are needles around, that's a major bio-hazard. But hey, if dumpster diving is worth the risk to you, then all the more power to you.
It is impossible for the consumer to truely do a "low level" format as that would wipe servo data tracks. Also, servo data is for the most part on it's own platter. So when you run those low level format utilites, your really just running a "mid level" format. I will write 0s to the entire data BUT anything pertaining to the servo data.
High level formats are done when you setup a file system with a full or quick format.
I just hope taking shots (diabetes) doesn't throw their needles in the trash. One prick and your life could be over. I dunno, I guess I just freakout over shit like that. God only knows what you'll find in a dumpster. Last think I want is HIV or some nasty cuts from broken glass or metal shit.
Absolutely nowhere...except for the lawyers. It's a perfect revenue stream for the legal overlords. Bow to them, for they are now our Gods that dictates what we say and who we are allowed to say it too.
There was a portable nuke available from 1961 to 1971. It was called the Davy Crockett and used the W54 warhead. The explosive yeild ranged from just 10 to 22 tons of TNT. We also had nuclear landmines as well.
I got all this information at this website. Check it out for more info. http://www.brook.edu/dybdocroot/FP/projects /nucwco st/davyc.HTM
I doubt the US would be using these things again. The cleanup would be a bitch for civilian land occupation long after the war was over. In fact, the idea now is to you smart weapons vs dumb high explosive ones. Why carpet-bomb a city when you can drop a missle through an office window. A perfect sucessful example is the Iraq war (innocent casualty wise).
And I said, who are we (yes, not all Slashdotters are from the US, but most / many are in fact from the US) to tell China what to do with their supercomputer? Kettle, black, glass houses, and so forth...
I agree. Thank God for MAD. They can build ten, thousand, million nuclear weapons and it wouldn't matter. Why? Because if they attacked us, we would turn China into a sheet of glass so massive it would reflect sunlight back to Earth and create global "cooling" OK...maybe not that bad, but you get the idea.
Very true, I would agree. Though, I'm sure we will have computer to reverse engineer DNA code through some form of emulation software. Once we are able learn how and what DNA sequences are needed to make cells, we will be able to artificially make life.
Imagine coding a machine or chemical factory in source code. Then, compiling that source code into a DNA sequence rather then binary. From there, you can make the DNA chain synthetically and grow the product. Of course, with any tool there is a dark side. I'm sure some bastard would use this to make a weapon in the form of a virus. It could spread to everyone, but only kill the host it would recognize. Basically, a bio-bullet with your name on it spelled out by your genetics. Scary huh? Let's just hope this technology will be used to provide immortality rather then the destruction of the human race.
Recycled engine oil get broken down into lighter oils and even fuel. Regardless of the recycled oil usage, as long as it's being used for something, it's better then dumping it back to earth in it's current state. I'm sure some of that jet fuel is made in part by recycled oil from the engine or transmission.
While simple single celled life forms can adapt, it only happens where they're survivors left to multiply and carry on their successful genetics. So for every successful new bacteria adapting to a new environment; billions if not trillions have died in the process. But hey, they will keep on breeding so what do we care.
But... The problem is complex life has a much longer lifespan then say bacteria. And given the amount of complex multi-cellular life we depend on (such as corn, cows, chicken, fish, plant...etc), it would be very bad news to have any extreme variable be introduced to them. Such extreme variable include (but not limited to) heat, cold, vacuum, pressure, and radiation.
Just as plants use the process of photosynthesis with chlorophyll, maybe these bacteria use the same type of system. But this time, they are feeding off of radiation. Just a thought.
Note to Slashdot. We need an Offtopic/Informative mod. My post clearly fits both. Unfortunatly, my world of sex wisdom gets modded down. Is it any wonder Nerds and Geeks are labeled as virgins and sexually ignorant.
I take the time to help a fellow geek, and this is the thanks I get. *sigh*

Heh, I suppose you have a point. But I'm originally from Houston. Now THAT'S a city that feels like your living in a sauna.

Too much of a pain in the ass. If I was him and needed quick cash, I would sell it all off and be done with it.
Capitolism at its finest. What might be a waste of money to you could be a bargain to someone else.
This is something liberal colleges will never teach you.

But with HT enabled, that would be a Quad dump..damage...errr....
Too much Quake guys. Sorry. My mind is blown.
It's a speed demon! Check it out, it even has a l337 VTech sticker.
