    Most of the time - if not all these days - should adhere to the Common RAID Disk Data Format (DDF). That means you can migrate an entire member set of RAID5 from one controller to another and important the foreign volume to be mounted.

    Car won't start unless the biometric sensors on the wheel are activated at all times.

    1. It validate whom started the car and thus is driving it.
    2. Taking both hands off the wheel yields in a loud and annoying sound in the cabin; much like driving without your seatbelt on, if not louder.

    Ergo, you can't drive with cloves, and a steering wheel replacement has to be purchased and installed by a certified dealer..

    Oppressive laws are are trivial to draft and pass.

    What starts off as voluntary eventually becomes mandatory. It won't be long before black box data is recorded and uploaded to the "cloud" upon each gas refill where the RF hardware is in each pump. The database being funded by your tax dollars under that auspices of public safety with includes environmental regulation. Oh, and your insurance company has access to said database.

    "I'm sorry James, but your dynamic insurance rate went up 20% last month from aggressive driving. Here are some friendly tips on how to reduce that bill next month..."

    physical space and electricity isn't cheap. And that's part of why virtualization is cost-effective. It allows you to consolidate to fewer pieces of hardware and pull old bare metal servers out that were once provisioned for one server.

    If IT management is leasing more than one cage and have a bunch of zombie servers occupying valuable space, heads need to roll. Or at the very least, severe ass-chewing.

    I ran into similar issues with DCs running as a VM under Hyper-V. It was a long time ago when 2008 (non-R2 edition) was first released. But yeah, no problem since then as all DCs have internet connectivity to poll the NTP server.

    Windows Active Directory I presume? You have a slack of about 5 seconds between DC (Domain Controllers) and member machines. Otherwise, you might get the following error in the event logs.

    Event ID 50: The time service detected a time difference of greater than 5000 milliseconds for 900 seconds. The time difference might be caused by synchronization with low-accuracy time sources or by suboptimal network conditions. The time service is no longer synchronized and cannot provide the time to other clients or update the system clock. When a valid time stamp is received from a time service provider, the time service will correct itself.

    In addition, an extra tax that makes them so cost prohibitive to most people, that the reduction in numbers of their use inherently makes them less of a hazard. Again, taxation not to punish, but rather keep the group confined to a few wealthy individuals and business use that would be inherently more responsible. Just you wait. There will be a big fat "I told you so" coming soon.

    Done all the time. Yes, it shouldn't, but it does. Here are examples I've ran into that makes me cringe to this day.

    1. Password written on a sticky note placed under the keyboard.

    2. Password on a strip of paper taped over on the palm-rest of a laptop.

    3. Everyone has the same password of "Password01" per the insistence of the owner.

    4. Employees casually sharing passwords.

    5. A entire spreadsheet of everyone's password stored on the public file share and replicated in various places on local computers (desktop, my documents, etc) as PASSWORDS.XLSX.

    Done!!! Put a fork in it!

    The Apple white list only has one line item looking for (wait for it)..APPLE! In other words, if the drive isn't tagged as Apple being the vendor, TRIM doesn't get enabled. Previous hacks disabled the Apple vendor check to enable TRIM on drives that could physically support it.
