  1. You, libertarian? on FCC To Enforce Do Not Call List, Not FTC · · Score: 1

Yeah yeah most of /. is. Using fewer laws is nice, but this wouldn't fly. This means any person trying to contact you could get arrested or sued. Once you start trying to make a line between businesses and people you start making too many laws.

  2. Where are the libertarians now? on FCC To Enforce Do Not Call List, Not FTC · · Score: 1, Insightful

Maybe the ACLU should get into this. How can a libertarian argue for laws that give more ability to sue?

So it's not stealing. There's a term for those who can't differentiate between a physical object and information. It's called insanity. Come back to the real universe.

  5. Paid by Microsoft? on Perl 5.8.1 Released · · Score: 1

I have to call BS on that one. I did look into the history of someone who admits to working for Microsoft (Dave Obsjano or something), but I highly doubt this person is paid to post to slashdot. I just don't think posts to slashdot figure in during the annual review.

There's enough crap out there you gotta sort through it somehow--and I'd prefer to use something from a bright. I'm sure Knuth's book is infected with decimal anyway--there's two strikes.

The Doom authors noted how much simpler it was than Wolf3D simply because of the move from sixteen to thirty-two bit.

  8. Memory mapped disk? on First Round of AMD Athlon 64 Reviews In · · Score: 1

Isn't this a major benefit of more bits? You can play with the concept of mapping disk like memory, since you have plenty of address space for any size disk. The Athlon 64 might be a kludge, but introducing more bits is a good thing.

  9. steal? on Source Code to Homeworld Released · · Score: 1

  10. If copyright were abolished, we'd see more source. on Source Code to Homeworld Released · · Score: -1, Troll
