Why would anyone ever purchase information? That's illogical. Information should be shared freely, perhaps for donations. Trying to do otherwise is like trying to hold water in your hands--you can't hold gravity off forever, and you can't keep information locked forever.
Too many luddites are trying to reverse the tide of technology. Don't/.ers love technology? Nuclear technology is a triumph of physics--it's something no other animal has mastered.
Why not take the business model of public broadcasting and work from donations? The immediate problem will be funding. Sadly, the majority of people are unevolved morons, and advertisers want to target a majority. The only way to keep shows on psychics and astrology off the air is to rely on direct donations (or subscriptions).
Nerds are superior--they can do anything others can do, but sometimes they choose not to. When they've killed everyone else, there will still be aesthetics.
I think a good business model is to take all these naysayers who say tips will never work, and have them put their money where their unoriginal mouth is.
If they want to be blinded by extreme cynicism, hey, at least profit.
The business model of copy-locking has to go away. They can request donations instead. If cdex, xiph, bittorrent, scorched3d, blender, and others can do it, why not a large production value game? It's a risk, but the donation model can pay off big.
Will you get widescreen, or at least the option? What about the 5.1 sound?
And I doubt the video quality will approach DVD. When they say you'll get exactly the content of a DVD, then there's a reason to switch. The only service to do this seems to be netflix, which just sends you the damn disc.

How about a computer parsable language like lojban? You can't polish a turd, and you can't systematically extract information from English.

It's just marketers doing their marketing. Why bother when most will put in fake info anyway?
How much longer will we deal with this junk? I'm hoping you give fake info. "Why yes, my e-mail is f@off.com. Thank you."
It's just when Microsoft gets one that it shows how evil they are. Abolish patents.
-Communism...hmmm...hey, isn't information free there? Cool!
-Space...technology...wow wow wow.
-Asians. Hey, isn't that near Japan.
Simple logic. Nerds are intelligent people. Intelligent people tend to be atheist. Thus, nerds tend to be atheist.
How can a Christian be logical at all? Let me guess...you can't delete a file unless it has the "sin" flag marked on it.

On the website? I want them to give books for nominal value, and get profit from tips.
Magnatune is doing it. USA Today mentioned tipware. Those are both music, but it should work for books.
This makes no sense.
That should be at least as important a figure. How many false positives does this Baysian filtering generate?

...there would be no need to squash these subpeonas. If you try to get a subpeona for violation of a nonexistent law, you'll get laughed out.
Too logical!
The motherboard makers could sponsor it.
I know one difference was you still needed to buy the disc in the store.

Animals meaning "animals besides humans" is widely used as well, and is based on backwards thinking. Same thing with "stealing" information.
Language evolves, right?
You're not very good with language, are you?
