The one thing that would make CDs from EMI more attractive to purchase would be if they actually sold CDs. The last three CDs I tried to buy that were produced from EMI all failed to function properly due to DRM and non compliance to the CD standard.
I returned each one to the store (opened) explaning why I was returning the product, and got a refund or alternate product. Then I stopped buying EMI produced music media.
I really didn't think the music was worth that much anyways.
To tell you the truth, I'm considering just using a damn circle.:-p
Circles offend me you insensitive clod.

Guild Wars Launches
·
· Score: 3, Interesting
Wish I had the mod points. Far too often do people call a design choice they don't like or understand 'An easy way out' or 'Stupid' or some other way of saying 'its not what I would have done, so its wrong'.
Except they didn't do anything.
For me, playing guild wars has been like Looking at all the things that other mmogs have tried doing but failed... except done in a way that works. It really looks like the designers have played other games that would be considered competitors and aggressively looked at what pissed players off the most and tried very hard not to include those aspects of the games. (Things like level grinding, mean death penalties ect...) All the while creating a unique and thoroughly fun gaming experience.
I really think this game shows what can happen when people who like games, and know about games... make games.
Well that's my two bits, feel free to disagree with me. (I can't believe I just wrote that:)

The way our system of representation functions, once a political party is in office, they can do just about anything they want until the next election.
Because of the way our representation works, in order to appease a majority of the voting public, the ruling party needs only to really act in on small geographic area where the population is the highest (Ontario and Quebec).
Because of how the Federal Government has changed the rules of how much power it should have, its easy for the ruling party to acquire funds to appease the population thick areas. These funds are taken from richer provinces (Alberta) and transfered to the whining provinces (Quebec) for the purpose of gaining votes.
Our new Prime Minister, has spent much time giving lip service about giving more power back to the west (Alberta) while he was looking to become the leader of his party. I have seen no action since then.
Soon, our new leader, Paul Marten, will be on his first visit to crawl up GW. Bush's ass. What this means for people in Canada? Most likely an erosion of the laws, freedoms, and sovereignty of our nation.
What this has to do with the topic: As Canada's leaders are eager to simply maintain power, and not interested in the good of our country, we will be subjected to laws from below the border to make our larger (population) juggernaut, big bully neighbor not want to turn around and hit us much for being different than them.
These U.S. centric laws may work in a Republic of Independent States. But will not function as intended within the geo-political landscape of our Confederation of Provinces (which by how things are now is a laughable concept).
Also the laws that are prevalent in the US are usually focused on the history of the nation. A nation that is relativity young (considering world history), birthed through war, pushed into the world politics via war, got the taste of war not on its own soil, and decided that the best way to keep war out is to start (or try and finish) wars on forign soil.
Can a nation that thinks this way be a role model for a relativity peaceful nation?/rant -----
Um... Ok I'm done now, Yes Canadian politicians can be bought, probably is a good deal too. get them by the dozen.
Sadly I was unable to register my Linux installs on sco.com. You see, after entering my information, except for SCO Linux, there is not realy an option that describes my personal Linux solutions, so I was unable to register my Linux with SCO. Ohwell.. I don't think they can send mail to fake@real.com anywho.

Reasons for scavenger hunts?

ScavHunt211
·
· Score: 5, Insightful
I think the real reason for these is to see how clever the participants really are. I remember doing quite bad at scavenger hunts as a kid because I was too literal. "Find a Fish" so I was angry because the time limit wouldn't allow me time to go fishing or to go to the store even, but wait, every other person got it! They made a "fish" out of paper, or drew one on the back of the item list.
My point is that some of these are meant to be stupid or un-realistic. The challenge is to see if the participants can think in a way that isn't a straight line. How clever is the guy who got every thing on the list, but just went out and bought/stolen each item. How about the gal who was able to fake it and still got the credit. Better yet how about the other fellow who declared the whole universe to be an illusion, and won because there was no contest in the first place.
These are mine.

I still judge every FPS I play partially on how it compares to Marathon. Be it story, interesting play, mood or just fun.
What other games do people use as a base for comparisons in other genres?
I never liked any of those games.
Guess his kind of game just doesn't sit well with some.
Then that is your written concent.?
