Conservatives don't hate Obama because "Black" or Hillary because "Vagina". They hate them because of the shitty job they've done and the horrible direction this country is headed.
Bullshit. Conservatives hated Obama before he was even elected. You didn't see any liberals among the birther idiots, and that was a straight-up racist movement. And the conservatives have been hating on Hillary Clinton for over 20 years now - for no apparent reason, so one can only conclude that it is, in fact, because of "vagina".
‘If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death." Leviticus 20:10
I use FBPurity, which can be set to completely hide the "Trending" sidebar (as well as a whole lot of other annoying things about the FB desktop interface), so this is a non-issue. And, since most people (I suspect) read FB on mobile devices where there is no "Trending" sidebar, it's a non-issue for them, too.
I had this shirt with the algorithm in Perl. I used to like wearing it in airports - never got any negative attention, though. Sadly, the shirt has gone the way of all things long ago.
This. Fairly early in my career, we were having problems with a T1 circuit (yes, it was that long ago) that turned out to be a problem with the way the telco had provisioned the line. My manager at the time had the nerve to ask if we should bring in a consultant because I obviously couldn't fix it. I damn near quit - luckily, that jerk left fairly soon thereafter.
All US citizens and resident aliens have to declare all bank accounts (routing/sort-code, acc#) with their respective balances, regardless of where they are around the world, to the IRS on the annual tax returns.
Uh, I am a US citizen, and I have never declared my bank account information to the IRS - except to tell them where to send my refund deposit. Now, if you have an account that pays interest (which hardly any checking accounts do these days) you have to declare the interest income, but all you do is list the amount and (maybe, it's been a while since I had to do this) the name of the institution. And you don't have to direct-deposit your refunds - the IRS will still send you a physical check if you request one.
Or, maybe, they should learn to have good backup policies so a ransomware infection would result in, at most, loss of 1 day's data while the last pre-infection backup is restored. Data integrity 101, people.
Also, have they fixed the impossibility of running Gnome Desktop on multiple machines with an NFS-mounted home directory? Last time I tried that, all preferences (the gconf database) got hopelessly scrambled if you changed anything.
Not when the relevant law (DMCA in this case) explicitly says it does not apply to law enforcement or intelligence agencies. The law doesn't mean just what you want it to mean, it means what it actually says.
So, OK - if the Republicans want to play it that way, they should just go ahead and reject the nominee - you know, have an actual vote. Of course, then they would be on record as voting against a qualified nominee just to be pissy toward the President, but then Obama could nominate someone else. This bullshit about the "Biden Rule" (which of course isn't really a rule at all) is just that. Oh, and what about the 82 judicial nominees (out if 168 in the entire freaking history of the country) that the Senate is still sitting on?
We don't even know that Pagliano is "testifying against her". I've heard rumours that he didn't want to testify without immunity because of some unreported income - for all we know, he will back up HRC's story in every detail.
The argument might make sense if the vacancy had opened up after the election, but to agree to the Republican's demand now he'd be agreeing that he's lost the authority to make major presidential appointments and decisions for the whole year.
It really doesn't matter, anyway - the Republican Senate has blocked almost every appointment the President has made for the last 5 years or so. They have already effectively taken away his power to appoint judges and senior officials.
I don't know what Samsung's ad blocker is doing differently, but Eyeo's Adblock Browser is still available in the Play Store. I have it on my Nexus - no problems, and it makes browsing much nicer. The Android version of Firefox also supports ad blockers. But, people gotta hate on Google.
If the studios were smart, they would offer worldwide streaming or timed rental of their entire catalogue at a reasonable price - and cut out all the middlemen like Netflix, Hulu, etc.
I'd love to be able to stream any of the Star Wars movies for $2 - hell, I'd pay $8 or $9 - but none of them are available to stream - you have to buy them at $19.99 each - which I am no way going to do.
We have a VAXstation 4000 Model 90 purchased in 1992, running VAX/VMS 5.4 still in use to drive the device that switches the telescope beam to different instruments. Luckily, we had several of them at one time so we have a source of spare parts, but we've really only had to replace a power supply once and a couple of disks (do you know how hard it is to find 4GB SCSI disks these days?).
I first became aware of/noticed Rickman in Closet Land, a very dark psychological thriller in which he played a good-guy sadistic interrogator. Thought he was brilliant. RIP.

And they conveniently ignore this one:

I had one of those - it's sadly fallen apart long since. I used to like wearing it through airports - never could get anyone to arrest me, though.
It's literally the first hit in a Google search for "socrates artisan".
In other words, you were completely talking out of your ass.

2006 called - it wants its anti-Linux whines back.
I'll just leave this here: CipherSabre.

HA ha ha ha ha ha! You so funny!
Seriously, I find your ideas intriguing and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

...or Baader-Meinhof? Rome Airport, 1973? Rapido 904 in 1984? Hofstad Network? London subway? Madrid train?
I know USAians don't pay much attention to what goes on in the rest of the world, but really?

Not CyanogenMod, but you could try Remix OS - I've run it in a QEMU+KVM virtual machine, and it looks pretty nice.
