So freedom of speech doesn't apply if you make fun of Corporations?
Thank God, Microsoft manages to maintain being a higher form of life than Fox News or all of us on/. would be screwed.
Still, the only place you are going to find moderate news is on NPR.
The only place for your liberal news is going to remain only on the internet at places like hate.com and buzzflash.com
Just another great example of Microsoft failing miserably whenever they attempt to Innovate. It just goes to show you having billions of dollars in your warchest still can't match the innovation of smaller companies and groups like Apple and some of the projects found on Linux.
-First it was 1993 The Microsoft Home software series (180 Software titles that flopped)
-Then it was Microsoft Bob.
-The ActiMate Plush toys of '97 (They turned into something from a B Horror movie when they got low on batteries)
-Buying out WebTV and bundling IE and MSN with it because it might actually take off and Microsoft would have no control over it.
-PocketPC is still the minority in the handheld market, and is having major issues making inroads in the Corporate Markets.
-The over-hyped Microsoft "Orange" SmartPhones were dropped by the carrier even before production began.
-The XBox failed to produce profitability or market dominance as "expected."
-Tablet PC's a new take on a recycled idea yielding poorly designed and fragile PC's with mediocre tablet software that is nearly impossible to draw or write in script with.
-And of course Windows still sucks, forcing the majority of discerning computer users to continue using alternatives.
With many countries switching or thinking about switching to Linux some of us should start changing our tune about the end of Apple to singing about the beginning of the end for Microsoft. And just like Apple, just because we sing it doesn't mean it has to happen right away.
Microsoft just has too many fingers in too many pies to do a sufficient job at all the markets they have extended into. Think the last years of the Roman Empire where they had over-extended. And soon the trampling hordes of the Linux Visigoths will be knocking on Big Redmond's door.
A nightclub in NH? Somehow I am doubtful that is a very 'happening' place.
Even better would be how easy it probably is to find the Night Club he is talking about. I mean, it is New Hampshire. A state that pays for social services an education by exploiting the vices of out-of-staters by cheap State-run liqour stores placed right on the border with Massachusetts.
And with it's newly obtained security assured by using Anything Other than Windows(TM), the already piss-poor accountability of Israel drops once more.
Good luck convincing teenagers it's "cool" to be bloated, ugly, slow, unreliable, finnicky, and have the emotional intelligence of a retarted pygmy chimp.
You've gotta work against the rest of the industry projecting an entirely different image. Of course, if anyone has money to throw into a pit, it's Microsoft.
Little do they realize how cool it is to trash Windows. Even someone who doesn't know how to eject a floppy takes a few jabs at Microsoft now and then.
Most of us remember Microsoft's Acquisition of Connectix "Virtual Server" and emulation technologies.
Is this a sign of Microsoft making concessions in an attempt to win back some of the markets they have lost (Germany) or are losing (China)?
The quote you posted seemed to say nothing about whether Apple did anything to 'attack' your precious Apple Communications.
From the quote it seems they changed their name pre-emptively to avoid facing any potential lawsuits.
I could be wrong, but you should have picked a better quote that directly blamed your demonized Jobs for forcing them to change their name.
My guess is Apple knew this all along because it's just plain too stupid and sloppy to forget that they've been sued twice by these guys and twice settled.
As somebody else said, they must have decided that the potential for the market was worth the risk and cost of a lawsuit over who "owns" words which should be in the public domain anyways since the words damn well existed before either of these companies existed.
Some people have pointed out that Apple is advertising the music service as the iTunes Store, which is probably a deliberate attempt to avoid using "Apple" in the name.
However, in Apple's TV spots and advertising they consistently point towards "Applemusic.com" which in turn links directly to the iTunes product page.
Could using AppleMusic.com as a referral impact this case in Apple Corporation's favor?
I hope not. I like the Beatles, but this goes straight back into those words that companies feel they "own." Anyone else remember Microsoft vs. Windows. This case is different since Apple did sign an agreement, but I think the fact that it was an issue before highlights how overzealous some companies can be about protecting themselves and their "corporate image."
And he's the first recorded person to manage to fall off one too.
+10 Geek points for falling off a "idiot-proof" Self-balancing gyroscopic personal transportation device.
SAaB was a better show than Firefly and suffered the same Fox-ian treatment that lead to it's demise.
Where is our movie?
I guess, we'll just settle for Firefly being resurrected.

Just a thought from a friendly MIT student.
