    I read a NYT's article about this last night. Seems very timely: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12... A few years ago I soundproofed the area around my furnace and this article sums up what I found nicely.

    In the military they are called free fire zones. Feel free to shoot and kill anything you want.

    Gun-free zones are really just safe havens for shooters where armed resistance is less likely.

    I would use Worldox as a document management solutions. It works with every application I can think of and is inexpensive. It can store 24 versions of a document and documents can be grouped together.

    I have been using it for 15 years and can't live without it.

    What happens when you hand your phone to the cop? Do you know consent to a voluntary search?

    This is rife with issues. A cop cannot search your phone without a warrant. Once you relinquish control and voluntary give up your phone what recourse do you have if they start searching it? Cops are known for not giving a damn about privacy rights.

    I have never seen any useful work come out of the current administrations White House. So, I think the United States would be better served if they did not pretend to do work.

    If your rich you don't have to raise kids. You hire undocumented workers to do that for you. By the time they are 18, you wonder who the strangers are in the house. And all I can say fuck CPS. No one knows how to raise her children better than their own parents. I would certainly not want anyone to instill values into my children other than me.

    It is the Wal-Mart effect. Wal-Mart perfected the notion that they can sell insanely cheap crap that will break after a few years and will need replacing instead of repairing. As we can see, people bought into it.

    If the finger printer reader is anything like the iPhone 5s+ then I am in trouble. I cannot unlock my iPhone with my right thumb print and have to use my left thumb and that stinks to be me because I am right handed. Guns are pretty safe and have been for a while. Kids who get accidentally killed by the parents' guns have irresponsible parents. If I mishandled a gun while I was growing up I got quite the whipping to be taught a lesson. I guess you cannot whip children without being dragged to jail. Funny how children are out of control today.

    I would expect Japan to re-militarize. With China ever increasingly flexing its military power in the region it might be good to have a strong military in Japan. And notice it is the Chinese who are worried more then anyone else.

    The constitution say no cruel and unusual punishment. The Soviets and Chinese have executed 10's of millions of people with a bullet to the head. It is quick, therefore not cruel and not unusual for it has been used millions of times.

    At one time, the world was thought to be flat, and after that, many thought that the universe rotated around the earth (and plenty of GOP still do). Is that what you want to go back to, or are you going to allow science and knowledge to take hold and make changes in our policy?

    At the time this country was found both of these statements were know to be false. How is this related?

    +1 on the .22lr. My guess is it is not used because it is up close and personal. Maybe they could have convicted killers draw straws do the execution. I know the Communists prefer the bullet to the head method. Heck, the used to bind people together so the could perform multiple executions at the same time to save ammo. And on a plus, it would not be fail the "cruel and unusual" test. Both the Soviets and the Chinese have executed 10's of millions with this method.
