    Try Sandboxie.
    I've had good success with running apps and games in a sandbox with it. The only thing it lacks (although it's better security wise) is being able to pipe files between the boxes so you'll have to install programs multiple times if it's needed in more than one box (think PDF reader, zip stuff, etc.).

    And this is why I feel Diginotar should be red with shame.
    Missing virusscanners on servers, easy passwords, unpatched software. There's no way in hell I'd let such negligence take place in a company responsible for such an important piece of security.
    Why hasn't the CSO been frothing at his mouth with anger at this?

    He's right if you're just looking at security. Most virtualization is about combining separate servers wasting energy and space onto one server though.

    That's what I'm waiting for, one core OS at boot (specialized BIOS?) on top of which I can install several other OS' and switch between them with a keyboard shortcut.
    It would require a layer on top of graphic hardware first though.

    It's not how much inch the monitor is, but what the vertical resolution is.
    Those idiotic HD resolutions meant cutting down quite a lot on resolution which means cutting down on spare height for menus etc..
    I'm going to keep running my 1920x1200 laptop as long as possible, those screens just keep getting more expensive!

    My current DIY active speakers are powered by Behringer amps and the crossovers are the DCX 2496's. No problem on audio quality here. I started out by modifying my old Tannoys to active after learning about Emerald Physics using the DCX for their speakers.

    output efficiency is 75 to 90% there is no way the system is producing the sound clearly

    So what about the high end brands that have been building so called digital amplifiers for a while (Naim, Linn, NuForce, Sharp SM-SX100 from the year 2000 even)?

    I don't think this test really shows anything as the comparison was just between the three and only one was new.
    The differences in sound can be contributed to the frequency response as a change of 0.1 dB can be noticed by the human ear. Take three receivers with identical frequency responses and I doubt there'd be a clear winner.

    We do the same thing here at our shop. Well.., not so much torch but reinstall. :-)
    It's not so much that we couldn't get rid of a virus, but it's an insurance against claims that the machine wasn't clean when the customer gets it back.
    It also takes away any worry from the customer about infected files left behind on the drive.

    4 to 5 fps ("full screen" with menu bar) on Intel 8400/nVidia 9800M GTS, Ubuntu 10.4.
    Mybe ripping Joe Jackson in the background slows things down. :-P

    That's what restricts me in the use of social media. At the end of a long day after work, cooking+eating, more work, etc. I often lack the energy to go through a long list of updates.
    Maybe when all the difficult projects are done I can reserve time for regular use of twitter/blog/etc.

    Isn't there a law against that? (but certain people think it's okay to show violence, not a natural feeling like sex)

    That's the thing that bothers me most, even though it meant we got some former customers from our competitors it feels like we too get a bit of a bad reputation just because we're in the same line of business.
    Just think of the stereotypical view of car salesmen for instance...

    One layer of one-way material on the inside, then one sound absorbing layer on the outside.

    It sounds like you're sarcastic, but we still have beter experience with HP than other brands. Maybe using Windows as a step to get more people to use WebOS applications isn't such a bad idea. I mean, most users just use the computer to mail, watch videos on Youtube and stalk eachother on Facebook, how much of a stretch is it to jump from Windows to an OS that only needs to connect you to the internet and run your choice of browser?

    That weakness will become moot in the future, most e-readers have enough battery power for the average reader and battery lifetime is a hot topic at the moment in research.
    By the time an e-reader runs 24 hours everyone will be used to reading from that instead of a real book and the people (like me) who prefer the bonded stack of faxes will start to get extinct.

    To be clear for all the posters who replied and didn't notice, I'm talking about Mydefrag, not the standard Windows defrag which doesn't do optimilization of files on disk.

    Ergo, fragmentation is a problem. The majority of users use Windows, therefor NTFS and defragmenting is a must.
    And because Windows throws everything into one partition re-arranging files is a must too. We use MyDefrag to speed up customer's pc's when they come in for maintenance because they're slow.

    Excuse me? Finally screens that display text properly? Only on high end laptops and monitors but not on the vast majority of retail equipment with their HD formatting.
    We sell used monitors (ex-lease) because they have decent vertical resolutions to use with text.
    Try to get a decent laptop with screen real estate and you pay big bucks.

    But I agree with taking away useful space by screen bloat. I get irritated every time I open the event viewer on Vista and 7 because the current version wastes so much blank space (not to mention the useless action pane).

    For me it's the ribbon interface that hides everything.
    At least with a menu I could just browse and read from the text what the option is. Now I often have to guess what that icon does and I'm not going to remember all those from the large amount of applications I have to support.
