As someone who is interested in quiet desktops this article has an interest comment on CPU power specs in that AMD seems to have gotten tired of direct wattage comparisons between different methods of measurements: ie Intels "typical" rating versus AMDs "maximum" rating. So AMD are now introducing their ACP rating "average CPU power".

They need income to cover their expenses making programs, and they need to break even. They get money from the government (based on the TV License Fee), but they then make money from a) selling DVDs and b) selling and/or licensing programs to TV stations abroad. If the release their programming for free this income would reduce and either they spend less money making programs, or the license fee goes up.

IIRC this method of parking is illegal anyway: the car must be parked parallel to the curb, and in the same direction as the traffic flow.

That is not uncommon mistake, I guess usually made by old farts such as myself: there *used* to be a separate BBC radio license, but it was abandoned in 1971. So, yes, you are correct, but it not a totally daft thing to say :-)

Definitely not true; here in Germany there is plenty of BBC programmer shown (dubbed :-( ) in the regular German channels. IIRC Wildlife, some comedy and Dr Who sell well. IIRC the Teletubbies made a packet for the BBC worldwide. And their DVDs are in the shops. All this helps subsidize the cost of making the shows, and I guess they do not want to cut into their own market by giving it for free over the net !!
