What is physics defying is how fast that server went down when slashdotted. After 5 minutes at 11:30 it was DDoSed to death. Yay slashdot readers! -Chris
Actually, I believe that code wouldn't work because you start off with a int, and then use a double. You would get a "Loss of precision" error. Quite sorry,;)
I'm not sure if this guy knows about the karma or not, but I just bought one and it's great. It's a 20gig portable player that plays MP3s, WMAs, Ogg, and FLAC. If anyone out there is looking for a portable player, I would seriously look at this player. Besides being a good player, it has a very supportive forum where rio engineers visit so if you want something in the new firmware update, they can possibly do it at http://www.riovolution.com/. You can also check it out on RIO's site here: http://www.digitalnetworksna.com/shop/_templates/i tem_main_Rio.asp?model=220&cat=53 Good luck
You don't play many games, do you shaitland? Go play Battlefield 1942 at 1600 x 1200 with full performance and full AA and AS with any GeForce card, and then run it with the 9800. Trust me, HUGE difference.
Actually, yes, the performance difference is very major to me. I've been using nvidia for years now, and before that voodoo. In fact, right now I am on a GeForce Ti4600. But i plays games competitevly and the geforce just can't keep up at all. On the other hand, the radeon's have been doing incredibly well and right now nvidia can't come close to the most bang for the buck that ati can. But yes, unfortunately ATI isn't supporting those right now. And unfortunately games really don't support FreeBSD and Linux either right now. That's why god invented Dual Booting.
If I'm not mistaken, why would you even want a fx5900 in the first place? ATI is trouncing all over NVIDIA. Personally, wouldn't it make more sense to find out all the possibilities of tweaking Radeons?
I believe there actually is a way to communicate faster than the speed of light. Apparently from an article that I read awhile back, you could split an atom in half. Then take the two atoms apart. Now, if you stopped the spin of an electron on one atom, it would instantly stop the spin of another electron on the other atom. I believe this happens due to Quantum Superposition, or something like that. Anyone else have some better information? Thx.
Actual, it takes both high current and high voltage to kill someone, and I would know both from experience. I've seen a car better, which has a lot of current but only 12v shock someone. And when installing light tubes that used 9600 volts at 30 milliamps someone got shocked, not killed.
can apparently be slashdotted too
