The easiest way to stop pirating of music is to make CD prices fair. Movies are more expensive to produce than albums, yet it's only 7 bucks to get into a movie theatre, it's at least double that for a concert.
DVDs are the same price as a CD, yet it costs much more to produce the content of the DVD.
I'll start buying CDs when they cost as much as a movie ticket. 7 bucks if fair for a CD, and for a movie ticket. If they up the price of a movie to twenty bucks noone would pay to see them, would you?
I live on the fourth floor of an apartment complex and it takes about 3 minutes for the elevator to reach ground floor, another 2 for it go up to the fourth floor. It's faster for me to climb the stairs. How long will it take this thing to go up to the ISS?

They can't scare people into buying their music, only to not copying it. That doesn't make them any
$2,000 for what? Getting someone to call up the girl's mother and say, "Give us 2 grand and we won't press charges."
Seems like they're getting more money than you give them credit for, they're certainly getting more from this girl than they've gotten in my entire lifetime, I won't pay 20 bucks for a CD with an hour of music when I can pay 15 for a 2 hour DVD with special features.
I've been waiting for something like this to happen. Now the parents can go after no only the RIAA, but also their ISP. The internet privacy act protects children under 13 from just this sort of thing. When the RIAA sopneaed the girl's ISP, they were not allowed to give her information up.
Looks like we finally have a case that'll make this circus stop.

Technium was at one time an artifical element, until it was detected by the Hubble to be in a nebula... so it could be possible for trans-uranium elements to exist in nature, usually after a supernova. It's just unlikely for us to detect them before they decay. Man-made elements have half-lives less than a second in length.
Assuming the average floppy is 3 cm thick... it would be a stack of floppies 51 840 meters in height.
