Yeah, I understood something like that may have been the case. What I wanted to say was that they managed to do quite some tricks with cheaper and more reliable technology. Whatever, I like the russians technology.
May I ask how? I could understand it if you was risking to lose/break the reader when a new one wasn't available, but uhm, for a harddrive that point or kind of worth nothing.
I'm moded flamebait because I say the foreign soviet countries/russia manages to do some neat tricks with technology? Why is that? The make awesome space, plane, anti missile, rifles,... cheap and with good reliability. How isn't that neat?
Yeah, I have no issues at all with buying an unlocked iPhone, but it's not as it's sold or intended to sell (I guess the price you pay even say with a subscription? Guess they should make it more binding..)
Something which indeed prevent me from walking into an Apple store are that there aren't any in Sweden;D
If I could order a locked new phone I would, I don't feel like ordering an unlocked one if someone have added a lot on the price and it's really easy to do, but it's more tempting then buying one with a subscription (which is also impossible in Sweden mind you. Apple suck in so many ways, major vendor lockin and high prices are two of them, this availability is a third one, lack of stores a fourth one. Software and especially innovative user interfaces makes up for some of that.
Of course I see something good in it also being a phone, but since I very rarely use a phone I don't need some high volume subscription service, a pre-paid card would do or something similair there I pay for the small things I may use. Now it's like eating for free 5 times per day in an all you can eat buffet while having anorexia;D
I don't know how it is here, I have a note on my door so I don't get paper ads, I mostly see them on TV and there the resolution is so crappy so they use that to show unreadable text for half a second with whatever things may apply to the offer.
I visited siba.se and they seem to show total price now. But the fucking blown out price in red should be the total, not in store =P
Sorry if you found it offensive. I guess it depends on how you usually use the language and who you usually talk to and in what ways and places.
I actually catch myself saying stuff in game which I get anxious about later becasue I feel bad using the words to people who maybe wasn't used with it or understood I was just "spamming" them.
I at some time converted the american prices for the iPhone + subscription and it ended up being 13.500-18.500 sek in total. It's not sold in Sweden afaik so I have no idea what it would cost here.
Yeah, I know there doesn't live that many people in Canada and that it's huge, northern Sweden are poorly covered outside bigger cities aswell and we have much higher population density I guess even thought it's low by almost anyones standards.
Over here you can get an unlocked phone without subscription and put in a pre-paid card in it, Or probably save like 150 sek or something if it's locked.
Earlier (like 5-10 years ago) you used to get the phone for free and pay for a subscription which let you phone up all the money, which was a good deal.
But nowadays more or less everyone are costumers already so they don't benefit that much from signing up an old one, so the deals aren't that good longer. So it's more like either you pay say 500-6000 sek for the phone and use it as you please, or you pay 0-2000 sek for the phone and get a subscription with an additional fee which translates to the lower price you had.
So like you can get phone XYZ for 4000 sek or you can get it with a subscription which cost say 99 sek and then 199 sek / month for the phone in 18 months for 4000-199*18.
So your quite free to do as you want and no one are forcing you to get some bad deal but you aren't going to do a good one either. I just wish that they made a law there everyone had to put up the total price for the phone instead of the in store price. Because now you often see like "Get the Sony-Ericsson W890i for 1 sek from Telenor" and then you have to find out all the months and fees your own and calculate the total price and compare with others and all that crap. It would be much better if they just said "Get the Sony-Ericsson W890i for 5000 sek with 24 months subscription which let you make all the phone calls you want within Telenor and to land lines."
Yes they are. So why do you require this phone then?
Get yourself a cheap phone from a few years ago off ebay. Decent battery life and a clear display. Then you can send your texts, phone for a taxi and use it in emergencies. Sorted.
Maybe you could use the cash you save to get yourself a girl for the evening? Just a thought... Because "don't do phone calls" was a round off, I guess I may do cellular phone calls like 2 times a month, and regular ones 1-2 times a day, but I could see myself scrapping the SIP-client and only use cellular if my phone wasn't shit.
I had an Ericsson T28s (3500 sek or something) which I liked, was quite "high end" and expensive then but had 60h battery life. Replaced with Samsung C55 (1200 sek) which I killed by some food wetness, had good battery life and slim form factor and was cheap with no extra functionallity (except JAVA and WAP which I never used anyway..)
Got an Sony-Ericsson Z300 used for 250 sek, low end phone, but I guess I should be using it. Got a Motorola W220 for 350 sek new just because if I signed up for Comviq Kompis for a year I got a cheaper price on it, and the Kompis subscription was free for that year so.... I currently use the Motorola one but I think the Sony-Ericsson one are better, but it randomly locks up sometimes. My mom have my old T28s;D
So I already have a cheap phone, but an unlocked iPhone would give me an mp3-player, a slick UI, probably much better audio quality than the piece of shit low-end phones I have now (which may be the most important factor to get it), a decent calendar (I guess) and would sync with iCal. All nice features, but not worth whatever the price are in USA (like 400 + 24*400 or something.)
I don't want a girl for the evening, or a fat girl, or an ugly girl, and preferably not a girl with kids or a meat eating girl either.
No, since it just cost slightly less and have much less functionallity. Also I would so much prefer the new Sony mp3-players, cowon d2, Sansa Clip/Fuze, over an iPod.
Over here you can buy a card with credits on it which you spend if you make phone calls, so it's easy to have a cellular phone which doesn't cost anything / month if you don't use it. Or you can get a real cheap subscription with free calls within the network and eventually other networks and/or landlines to.
If I could get the iPhone for 3000 sek as a gadget and then only pay for the phone calls I would actually make I would probably have gotten one by now.
Yeah, I don't own an mp3 player yet and my phone are real piece of shit so I'm intrested in it alright but not at the price they want me to pay. And also as I said it's no sold here. But if someone tell me how to get one in Sweden which aren't unlocked (like can I order from apple.uk or something?) and also tell me if all current versions can be unlocked and if it requires anything special (does pwnage or whatever it was called do it all for me?) then I may get one.
I feel so sad for the suckers which buy an iPod Touch instead of an iPhone and unlock it. If only it had a memory card slot aswell.
3G or not I don't care that much since it have been around for years here and still most phones sold are GSM and no one seems to care about it.
Just prove that most of us europeans aren't retarded enough to fall for their stupid pricing schemes. I would never buy a fucking phone for 18.000 sek of which only 3.000 sek or so was payed at purchase.
Nerd as I am I don't have any friends, girls and don't do phone calls. So the "services" I get for the monthly fee are more or less completely useless. Just give me the gadget!
I've been thinking about getting one and unlock it but I'm to lazy to read how it's done, but I've got the impression it's easy and you can do it yourself nowadays? But I don't think they are sold in Sweden yet so I still have to buy it from some other place and then someone have probably already unlocked it and try to earn some cash on it.
... maybe I should add that it only makes sense then the religion expresses hatered instead of acceptance. If your "religion" tries to tell you to accept people how they are, their thoughts and ideas, their right to express them (even if they are "wrong") and so on then I guess there's nothing wrong with that. If it's only there to limit people and their freedom, then yes, fuck it.
If Sweden was really serious about "hate speech", they'd have to outlaw Islam and Catholicism as they are currently being practiced, because those religions are intrinsically in conflict with hate speech laws. I don't see the problem with that;D
Depending on how you define religion (don't we all live under some imaginary "rules" for how we want to or should live our lives?) I guess Propagandhi (?) got it right: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAouFMANYSY
You, someone had already pointed that out in some other post, guess I didn't thought that long me either. In any case they are indeed NOT binary numbers.
Yeah, I understood something like that may have been the case. What I wanted to say was that they managed to do quite some tricks with cheaper and more reliable technology. Whatever, I like the russians technology.
:/, so I didn't.

I guess it would had helped if I had typed USSR > * but then I would get modded down for that instead!
Why is that? They don't spin? How are they read?
May I ask how? I could understand it if you was risking to lose/break the reader when a new one wasn't available, but uhm, for a harddrive that point or kind of worth nothing.
My first hit for "register .su" was http://www.e3internet.com/shop/conditions/register-su/ which sells them for £30.
I'm moded flamebait because I say the foreign soviet countries/russia manages to do some neat tricks with technology? Why is that? The make awesome space, plane, anti missile, rifles, ... cheap and with good reliability. How isn't that neat?

Whatever

Phone manufacturers should do, network owners probably not.
No, I'm talking about the iPhone without the huge service bundle.
:D:D:D lol, thanks, I needed it :D

Not that kind of meat :/, it's all ok if she hunger for meat, aslong as she don't eat the wrong kind :/
It will have all the applications and it syncs with iCal?
:)
Anyway, yes, even with only missing out on the phone part (and camera? Or is that in the touch aswell?) it's indeed much less functional
Sorry if you found it offensive. I guess it depends on how you usually use the language and who you usually talk to and in what ways and places.

I've heard PwnageTool are supposed to be the best one. But the webpage don't have much details about it:

I'm sitting in the sofa at 19.34 and haven't finished my breakfast yet? Do you count slashdotting as exercise? :D
;)
I guess it may be for the average reader

Which indeed are what most of us would say about soviet technology.
