Don't you think if they had a "good" work-around tech that they would have implemented it by now instead of spending $$$$ on lawyers. They want to make money not change US patent law (i.e. they aren't a high and mighty company).
If they had an alternative that works they would never have gone into negotiations. They don't have anything that users are going to be happy with.
I'm in rural Oregon and have to use pegasus satellite for my directv programing. They charge more and directv still sends me a monthly bill for the PVR. No local programing to boot!
You can already play nethack on linux dummy. The post was about linux not being mainstream until more games could be played on it. My post was suggesting that you dump the PC platform for games and simply use consoles for gameplay.
Try to keep up will you.
How about making a deal with AOL. Create a bootable CD (Knoppix" that will run AOL so a user just boots the CD and can get online with AOL. AOL can start sending this CD out so new users get to try AOL and Linux out.
I heard that after seeing the IBM commercial Michael Jackson ordered all computers in the "Jackson camp" to switch immediately to the "little boy system".
I can think of many many better distro's that would be better than Debian to introduce new users to. Fedora, Suse, Mandrake, Knoppix, Lindows (yes, I know the last 2 are Debian based). Hand them a set of Debian CD's and they aren't likely to enjoy their first day with Linux.

Boo Hoo Hoo!
CBS is being mean to me! Their not being fair! Waa, waa, waa...
What a bunch of hypocritical whiners. They are mad because CBS doesn't want to allow them to push their political agenda. If I were in charge of a major corporation (CBS) I don't think I would want to risk offending "powerful people" either. Especially for Moveon.org (who are/they/ any how?)
That would make a great email client for them!
Mad Cow, eh?

Give an example.
Umm, start with Mandrake, then Redhat, then suse, then debian. Now, go get started!
This is the commercial that made Michael Jackson switch to Linux!
Buy a PS2 (or some other console) for games

I know of him since I use Mandrake.
Who's to say "textar" won't abandon this when he gets bored or when he decides he should be getting paid but isn't?
Why don't you upgrade to the 3.10 rom and sync with Linux you dumb ass.
Hey, I have to run windows to use their sync software. F this crap!
For me it was Donkey Kong Country that made me decide I never needed to buy another game.
Seattle tried to pass a coffee tax last month.
